This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the development dynamics of cities in Kazakhstan, focusing on the interplay between economic and social factors and their impact on the Gross Regional Product (GRP). Employing a dataset encompassing a range of indicators, cities were categorized into development groups (Highly Developed, Moderately Developed, Less Developed) based on normalized composite scores. The study aimed to test two central hypotheses through Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) analysis: firstly, that economic factors are significant positive determinants of GRP, overshadowing the influence of social factors; and secondly, that social factors significantly influence GRP, with economic factors playing a lesser role. The analysis revealed that economic factors, including SME activity, retail trade, fixed capital investment, and tax revenue, exhibited a substantial impact on GRP, whereas social factors like population growth, average salary, and income levels showed relatively less influence. The findings underscore the predominance of economic determinants in shaping regional productivity, providing critical insights for strategic urban development planning and policy-making. By highlighting the differential impacts of economic and social factors on urban development, this study contributes to the broader understanding of regional growth dynamics and offers a data-driven foundation for targeted developmental initiatives in Kazakhstan's urban centers.

The goal is to justify the need for sustainable development of agro-industrial complex based on state regulation, analyze main indicators of crop production industry: maintaining and improving soil fertility, growing crops adapted to the regional natural conditions, using the most productive plant species and varieties, taking into account introduction of resource-saving technologies. Methods – PEST-analysis, which allows taking into account the economic and social aspects of the external environment that affect activities of the enterprise; generalization of information, synthesis, systematic approach. Results – volumes of gross agricultural output of Kazakhstan for 2019-2021, main stages of reengineering are presented. A number of effective measures to improve competitiveness of agricultural production have been proposed. The role of scientific support of AIC, the use of innovative agricultural technologies and developments in crop production and animal husbandry is shown. The authors state the need for constant updating of professional standards that regulate the requirements for competencies of specialists in agricultural sector; use of the latest modern methods of foreign practice; compliance with international standards in storage, processing of agricultural products and feed; strict accounting of gene pool of breeds, groups, types of animals, birds, plants; production costs reduction, increasing profitability and productivity, which can be achieved through technical and technological reequipment, use of highly productive crop varieties, improvement of production structure and methods of economic management. This article examines the relationship between innovation, education and economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many empirical studies have proved a positive relationship between innovation and economic growth, that innovation has become a major component of global economic growth. Despite the acceleration of economic growth in various countries, including Kazakhstan, the relationship between economic growth and innovation in the country remains unclear. This study examined the impact of three factors: R&D, academic staff and innovation spending on economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The identified groups of indicators of economic development consist of sub-indicators. A regression analysis was done based on statistical data from 2009 to 2021. SPSS software was used for data processing. Three pairs of hypotheses were developed. The results of the first and third groups of hypotheses are similar only in those indicators that represent the total number of participants in innovative development, whose influence on economic development becomes strong. Thus, we can conclude that there is a strong relationship between GDP and indicators of educational and innovation factors. There is a relationship between the indicators of the academic staff in R&D and all enterprises that are involved in the process of development and implementation of innovations in Kazakhstan. The proposed hypotheses were accepted. Government agencies can use the results of this study in the development of innovation policy in the country.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015, highlight the importance of resilience and sustainability in achieving goals such as good health and well-being (SDG 3), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), and climate action (SDG 13). Addressing these challenges and promoting a supportive work environment through interventions such as team-building events, recognition of employees’ efforts, and providing opportunities for skills development can contribute to the resilience and sustainability of Kazakhstani organizations. This study aimed to explore resilience and sustainability in the workplace in higher education in Kazakhstan from the perspective of managing and academic staff. Interviews were conducted with ten respondents from different universities in Almaty city, Kazakhstan, to identify individual and organizational factors that contribute to resilience and sustainability in the workplace. The findings revealed that teamwork, working environment, work process, functioning, and leadership were critical organizational factors impacting resilience and sustainability. Academic staff emphasized the importance of corporate spirit, solidarity, and teambuilding while managing staff highlighted the need for a clear allocation of tasks and responsibilities. Challenges such as unequal task distribution and a shortage of competent specialists were identified, which can impede work progress and affect productivity. The study suggests that contextually relevant strategies and interventions should be developed to promote positive organizational behavior and overall progress toward sustainable development goals in Kazakhstan, taking into consideration the unique cultural, social, and economic factors that influence the workplace dynamics in the country.
