This article examines the relationship between innovation, education and economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many empirical studies have proved a positive relationship between innovation and economic growth, that innovation has become a major component of global economic growth. Despite the acceleration of economic growth in various countries, including Kazakhstan, the relationship between economic growth and innovation in the country remains unclear. This study examined the impact of three factors: R&D, academic staff and innovation spending on economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The identified groups of indicators of economic development consist of sub-indicators. A regression analysis was done based on statistical data from 2009 to 2021. SPSS software was used for data processing. Three pairs of hypotheses were developed. The results of the first and third groups of hypotheses are similar only in those indicators that represent the total number of participants in innovative development, whose influence on economic development becomes strong. Thus, we can conclude that there is a strong relationship between GDP and indicators of educational and innovation factors. There is a relationship between the indicators of the academic staff in R&D and all enterprises that are involved in the process of development and implementation of innovations in Kazakhstan. The proposed hypotheses were accepted. Government agencies can use the results of this study in the development of innovation policy in the country.

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of total factor productivity (TFP) on corporate performance, considering the sustainability of the company, including its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) indicators, which have a significant influence on TFP. In a global environment marked by uncertainty, companies with high ESG scores demonstrate greater adaptability and resource allocation efficiency, contributing to the growth of TFP. Based on a rich sample of Chinese listed companies from 2010 to 2023, this study constructs a multiple regression fixed-effects model and conducts an empirical study using panel data. At the same time, we use multiple methods for robustness testing to ensure the reliability of the research results. The findings indicate that ESG has a positive effect on TFP, with corporate sustainability playing a mediating role through innovation capabilities, operational resilience, organizational resilience, and financial flexibility. Furthermore, significant differences are observed in the impact of ESG between companies with high market concentration, capital-intensive industries, high-pollution industries, and others. The study emphasizes the need for companies to develop resilience and innovation capabilities to enhance productivity and sustainability. Key words: ESG, Corporate Resilience, Operational Resilience, Financial Flexibility, Total Factor Productivity.

In this article, the authors consider project management in the strategic planning of energy industry enterprises. The purpose of the article is to analyze and calculate indicators in order to identify the effectiveness of energy enterprise modernization. The authors thoroughly analyze the literature review on project management in the enterprise’s strategic planning. The authors also revealed that strategic planning in the project management framework is considered a dynamic set of six interrelated management processes that logically follow each other. Results: the authors calculated the degree of factors influenced to identify the decreased degree in the enterprise efficiency by the method of chain substitutions. As a result, heat energy was underdeveloped due to the reduction in the number of operation hours of boiler units. As a result of the conducted research, it was revealed that a change in the values of the main factors, namely the number of boiler units operating and due to heat losses from external pipelines affecting the production process, entails a change in the generated power of boilers, the amount of load and the valuable heat released, and hot water transferred to the consumer. Conclusion: the presented data and their analysis make it possible to effectively assess that a well-chosen and successfully implemented business management strategy is the key to its effective functioning in a market economy. Of course, a good strategic plan and its good execution do not guarantee that the company will be able to completely avoid periods of recession and uncertainty.

Introduction: Kazakhstan has the most developed Islamic finance infrastructure in the post-Soviet space – three operating Islamic banks, a dedicated regulator within the Astana International Financial Centre, and a 2020-2025 Master Plan targeting a 3-5 percent share of Islamic banking assets. By end-2025 that share stood at only 0.44 percent, while 13 percent of adults remained unbanked and gender and rural inclusion gaps persisted. This study examines under what institutional conditions Islamic banking can move from a niche product line to a working instrument of social-financial inclusion. Methods: Four-track mixed-methods design: 1) time series of Islamic banking assets and their share for 2018-2025 from NBK, ARRFM, and AFSA reporting; 2) cross-country comparison using Global Findex 2021 and 2024; 3) documentary content analysis of the AIFC Master Plan, the IMF FSAP Technical Note on AIFC (2024), the World Bank FSAP (2024), the IsDBI-AIFC Kazakhstan Country Report (2024), and the EDB-IsDBI-LSEG joint report (2025); 4) qualitative synthesis of peer-reviewed expert and focus-group studies. Results: Islamic banking assets grew 7.5-fold – from KZT 42 billion in 2018 to KZT 315 billion in 2025 – yet their share moved only from 0.17 percent to 0.44 percent, leaving a 2.56 percentage-point gap (5.8× the current share) to the Master Plan lower bound. Account ownership reached 87 percent in 2024, second in the region only to Ukraine. Religious self-exclusion accounted for an estimated 11 percent of the unbanked, against 23-35 percent in other Central Asian states. Murabaha and ijara concentrated above 90 percent of demand. The banking law in force from March 2026 authorizes Islamic windows in conventional banks. The Tayyab Finance retail auto-financing programme (KZT 20 billion, 2025) and the first retail sukuk on the Astana International Exchange marked the first measurable retail and SME move. Discussion: The decoupling between absolute growth and market share, together with persistent awareness, trust, and product-range constraints, is consistent with the «institutional traps» framework: weak state support, low household awareness, and an unfilled product menu reinforce one another. Islamic windows in conventional banks combined with retail product innovation shift the binding constraint from supply to awareness – better addressed through financial literacy and Islamic social-finance instruments than through additional licences. Scientific Novelty: The paper integrates macro-financial banking statistics, Findex-based inclusion indicators, and institutional-policy analysis in one frame and treats Islamic banking development as a measurable inclusion instrument rather than as a separate niche segment. It develops a typology of inclusion-relevant Islamic finance instruments mapped onto Kazakhstan’s specific exclusion patterns and provides explicit benchmarks for monitoring against the Master Plan 2020-2025 and the EDB-IsDBI-LSEG 2033 projection. Practical Implications: Four priority levers: phased deployment of Islamic windows under the March 2026 law; a retail and SME pivot via standardized murabaha, ijara, and qard hasan products; integration of Islamic-finance modules into the national financial literacy programme; and a regulated framework for Islamic social-finance instruments – zakat, waqf, and benevolent loans – channelling philanthropic flows to underserved rural and female segments. Each lever is linked to a measurable Findex indicator and to the Master Plan target trajectory.
