Ride-sharing (RS) has great values in saving energy and alleviating traffic pressure. Existing studies can be improved for better efficiency. Therefore, we propose a new ride-sharing model, where each driver has a requirement that if the driver shares a ride with a rider, the shared route percentage (i.e., the ratio of the shared route's distance to the driver's total travel distance) exceeds an expectation rate of the driver, e.g., 0.8. We consider two variants of this problem. The first considers multiple drivers and multiple riders and aims to compute driver-rider pairs to maximize the overall shared route percentage (SRP). We model this problem as the maximum weighted bigraph matching problem, where the vertices are drivers and riders, edges are driver-rider pairs, and edge weights are driver-rider's SRP. However, it is rather expensive to compute the SRP values for large numbers of driver-rider pairs on road networks. To address this problem, we propose an efficient method to prune many unnecessary driver-rider pairs and avoid computing the SRP values for every pair. To improve the efficiency, we propose an approximate method with error bound guarantee. The basic idea is that we compute an upper bound and a lower bound for each driver-rider pair in constant time. Then, we estimate an upper bound and a lower bound of the graph matching. Next, we select some driver-rider pairs, compute their real shortest-route distance, and update the lower and upper bounds of the maximum graph matching. We repeat above steps until the ratio of the upper bound to the lower bound is not larger than a given approximate rate. The second considers multiple drivers and a single rider and aims to find the top- $k$ drivers for the rider with the largest SRP. We first prune a large number of drivers that cannot meet the SRP requirements. Then, we propose a best-first algorithm that progressively selects the drivers with high probability to be in the top- $k$ results and prunes the drivers that cannot be in the top- $k$ results. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method.

With the advancement of communication technology and location acquisition technology in the context of modern smart cities, the sharing bike systems offer users the great autonomy and convenience for the last/first-kilometer trip. Meanwhile, we can now able to collect, store, and analyze a large amount of sharing bike data. How to effectively use these massive data to provide better services is an emerging task. However, due to the skewed and imbalanced bike usages for stations located at different places, it is of great significance yet very challenging to predict the potential destinations of each individual trip beforehand so that the service providers can better schedule manual bike re-dispatch in advance. To address this issue, this paper proposes an attention-based deep learning framework for trip destination prediction (AFTER). AFTER first learns the low-dimension representations of users and sharing bike stations via negative sampling strategies. Then, a convolution neural network with an attention mechanism is utilized to predict the future trip destination. Experimental results on a real-world dataset indicate that the proposed framework outperforms several state-of-the-art approaches in terms of precision, recall, and F1.

Citation recommendation is important in the environment of scholarly big data, where finding relevant papers has become more difficult because of information overload. Applying traditional collaborative filtering (CF) to citation recommendation is rather challenging due to the cold start problem and the lack of paper ratings. To address these two challenges, in this paper, we propose a Collaborative filtering with Network representation learning framework for Citation Recommendation dubbed as CNCRec, which is a hybrid user-based CF considering both paper content and network topology. It aims at recommending citations in heterogeneous academic information networks. CNCRec creates the paper rating matrix based on attributed citation network representation learning, where the attributes are topics extracted from the paper text information. Meanwhile, the learned representations of attributed collaboration network is utilized to improve the selection of nearest neighbors. By harnessing the power of network representation learning, CNCRec is able to make full use of the whole citation network topology compared with previous context-aware network-based models. Extensive experiments on both DBLP and APS datasets show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of precision, recall, and Mean Reciprocal Rank. Moreover, CNCRec can better solve the data sparsity problem compared with other CF-based baselines.

Graph neural networks (GNNs) have achieved great success in node classification tasks. However, existing GNNs naturally bias towards the majority classes with more labelled data and ignore those minority classes with relatively few labelled ones. The traditional techniques often resort over-sampling methods, but they may cause overfitting problem. More recently, some works propose to synthesize additional nodes for minority classes from the labelled nodes, however, there is no any guarantee if those generated nodes really stand for the the corresponding minority classes. In fact, improperly synthesized nodes may result in insufficient generalization of the algorithm. To resolve the problem, in this paper we seek to automatically augment the minority classes from the massive unlabelled nodes of the graph. Specifically, we propose \textit{GraphSR}, a novel self-training strategy to augment the minority classes with significant diversity of unlabelled nodes, which is based on a Similarity-based selection module and a Reinforcement Learning(RL) selection module. The first module finds a subset of unlabelled nodes which are most similar to those labelled minority nodes, and the second one further determines the representative and reliable nodes from the subset via RL technique. Furthermore, the RL-based module can adaptively determine the sampling scale according to current training data. This strategy is general and can be easily combined with different GNNs models. Our experiments demonstrate the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines on various class-imbalanced datasets.
