The development of tourism in cities in recent years has increasingly led to negative ecological, socio-cultural, and economic effects. Cities in Serbia are facing the same issues, and therefore must plan their tourism development according to the principles of sustainable development in order to reduce the negative impact of tourism. Market research is crucial for planning strategies for sustainable urban tourism development. This scientific work highlights the importance of market research for the sustainable development of tourism in Kragujevac, with a focus on the identification of key elements that contribute to the improvement of city tourism. A survey conducted among 302 respondents during June and July 2023 collected data on demographics, motivation for visiting, satisfaction with the offerings, and perceptions of the ecological and social aspects of tourism. The results show that tourists are most attracted to cultural and historical landmarks, events, natural beauty, and gastronomic offerings. The research revealed challenges in the sustainable use of natural and cultural resources, which requires further consideration to enhance tourism development. Strategies that support environmentally friendly practices, such as using renewable energy sources and promoting eco-tourism, along with improving tourists' awareness of sustainable practices, are recommended.

Coastal zones represent the most ecologically sensitive areas exposed to the intensive pressure of mass tourism. In response to the accompanying degradation of natural resources, ecotourism emerges as a primary instrument for maintaining a balance between economic development and environmental protection. The subject of this review paper is the systematization and analysis of theoretical and practical aspects of strategic ecotourism management under the specific conditions of river coastal areas. The objective of the paper is to provide a critical review of contemporary scientific literature, while the practical application of the analyzed approaches is evaluated through a case study of the Derdap National Park, utilizing SWOT and TOWS analysis to define strategic development directions. By applying the descriptive method and the case study method, the paper highlights the necessity of implementing an integrated approach to coastal zone management. Concluding considerations suggest that controlled tourism valorization, based on determining the carrying capacity of the area and the active involvement of the local community, represents a key factor for long-term sustainability and the preservation of the unique biodiversity and cultural heritage of the Danube region.

Contemporary challenges in managing dark heritage sites require approaches that ensure long-term protection of authenticity while simultaneously enhancing the user experience. This paper explores the application of Design Thinking methodology as an instrument for the sustainable transformation of dark heritage into an innovative cultural tourism offer in Belgrade. Through a survey conducted among 32 respondents during February and March 2026, data were collected regarding the perception of the current offer, the identification of critical points, and the potential for improving the interpretation of the Staro Sajmište site. The results indicate that visitors highly value the expertise of curatorial guidance but, at the same time, recognize obstacles that threaten the sustainability and dignity of the site, primarily in the form of inappropriate content in the immediate surroundings. By applying Design Thinking, the paper defines strategic guidelines for transformation through the introduction of audiovisual materials, short films, and survivor testimonies. Such an approach enables the creation of an offer that is not only technologically innovative but also socially sustainable, preserving the integrity of the heritage for future generations and integrating it into the broader cultural context of the capital.

The paper explores the role of wine events as a key driver of the sustainable development of wine tourism in Serbia. Special emphasis is placed on the economic, environmental, and socio-cultural dimensions of sustainability, through an analysis of the Fruška Gora Wine Walk event held in Irig. By synthesizing relevant literature and examining good practice examples, the study demonstrates that well-designed and organized events contribute to the diversification of the local economy, the strengthening of destination identity, and the promotion of authentic regional values. At the same time, they raise awareness of the importance of preserving natural and cultural resources and encourage sustainable behavior among visitors and wine producers. The findings indicate the need for strategic planning, cooperation between the public and private sectors, and active involvement of the local community in order for such events to become a long-term sustainable model for the development of wine tourism in Serbia.
