Amanda N. Warner earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Arizona (UA) in 2020, majoring in molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry. During high school, she cloned and sequenced circadian genes from the lobster species, Homarus americanus, in the lab of Joe Hull (Ph.D.). At the UA, she was selected as a national Beckman Scholar, where she completed her honors thesis in the lab of J. Ross Buchan (Ph.D.) researching the role of endocytosis in mediating toxicity and aggregation of proteins involved in neurodegenerative diseases. She is now a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) in the lab of Don Gibbons (MD, Ph.D.). Her research interests include the mechanisms of lung cancer metastasis and the tumor immune microenvironment. In 2020, she was awarded the GSBS Deans’ Excellence Scholarship.
