Daniel Aviles received his Ph.D. from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, Sweden, working on soil erosion. Writer. He received his civil engineer degree at the Universidad Mayor de San Simón, in Cochabamba, Bolivia where he lives. His area of expertise include spatial risk assessments and natural hazard evaluations, with special focus on landslides. He is a part-time teacher at the university and works as a consultant.
