Dr. Declan M. Devineis the Director of the Polymer, Recycling, Sustainability, Industrial, and Manufacturing (PRISM) Research Institute at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). He is a funded investigator at the SFI-funded Amber Centre for Advanced Biomaterials and the Cúram Medical Device Centre. He holds a BEng (2000) and a PhD (2006) in Polymer Engineering from Athlone Institute of Technology. His research interests include developing materials for biomedical applications such as controlled release of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), bone regeneration, and biodegradable polymer stents, as well as structural thermoplastic composites and polymer-based smart manufacturing.
