Anna Laura Pisello is a Full Professor of Building Physics and Energy Systems at the University of Perugia, Italy, and the founder of the EAPLAB.NET (Environmental Applied Physics Lab). She earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in Building Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 2009 and received her Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from the University of Perugia in 2013. From 2010 to 2012, she enhanced her academic prowess as a visiting scholar at prestigious institutions including Columbia University, Virginia Tech, and City University of New York. Having begun her post-doctoral journey in Applied Physics in 2013, she currently serves as a Full Professor of Building Physics and Energy Systems at the University of Perugia, Italy, and concurrently holds the position of Visiting Research Associate at Princeton University since 2018. She leads several Horizon 2020 grants and two Marie Curie Doctoral Network projects. She is also the Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant HELIOS, which focuses on radiative cooling to combat urban overheating. Her research interests revolve around two key areas including innovative smart materials to optimize multifunctionality and thermo-physics characterization of building-to-urban envelopes, and indoor–outdoor microclimates, focusing on environmental comfort and energy conservation, particularly in dense urban areas to enhance city resilience to climate change.
