Professor Mohammed M. Farid has obtained his PhD and MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Swansea/ Wales in the UK and his BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad. He was the Founder of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Basrah in 1983. He has also worked as a full professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology, the University of Science Malaysia, and the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers London and an active member of several international societies. He does research in Energy storage with PCM, Microicroencapsulation of PCM, Production of bio-diesel and bioethanol, Pyrolysis of plastic wastes and used tires, Ohmic heating, microwave extraction, High pressure and Pulsed electric field processing of food.
