FANG HUANG received his B.S. degree in surveying and mapping engineering from Taiyuan
University of Technology, Taiyuan, China, in 2002, his M.S. degree in photogrammetry and
remote sensing from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 2005, and his doctorate degree
in high-performance geo-computation from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese
Academy of Science, in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Recourses
and Environment, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His current research interests include putting cutting-edge computing techniques, e.g., parallel computing, grid computing, cloud computing, and even heterogeneous computing, into RS/GIS algorithms’ design and implementation.
