Barouch Giechaskiel graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2000, and was awarded his Ph.D. by the same university in 2005. He was a research fellow at the European Commission—DG Joint Research Centre (JRC),
Institute for Environment and Sustainability in Ispra (Italy) until 2009. From 2009 to 2013, he was employed by AVL Graz (Austria) as an application engineer for AVL’s Particle Number Counter. From 2014 to 2019, he was the scientific laboratory manager of the Vehicle Emission
Laboratories of the JRC of the European Commission in Italy. Currently, he contributes to projects such as RDE (Real Driving Emissions), PMP (Particle Measurement Programme), PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement Systems) and non-exhaust emissions. He has been chairing the UNECE PMP group since 2021.
