In this article, a novel finite-time attitude-tracking control scheme is proposed by using the prescribed performance control (PPC) method for the spacecraft system under the external disturbance and an uncertain inertia matrix. First, a novel polynomial finite-time performance function (FTPF) was used to avoid the complex calculation of exponential function from conventional FTPF. Then, a simpler error transformation was introduced to guarantee that the attitude-tracking error converges to a preselected region in prescribed time. Subsequently, a robust adaptive controller was proposed by using the backstepping method and the sliding mode control (SMC) technique. Unlike the existing attitude-tracking control results, the proposed PPC scheme guarantees the performance of spacecraft system under the static and transient conditions. Meanwhile, the state trajectory of system can be completely drawn into the designed sliding surface. The stability of the control scheme is proven rigorously by the Lyapunov’s theory of stability. Finally, the simulations show that the convergence rate and the convergence accuracy are better for the tracking errors of spacecraft system under the proposed control scheme.

The multi-wing centrifugal fan is an important part of air conditioning systems, particularly in the automotive domain. Due to the compact structure and short blade passage of the fan, it may reduce the aerodynamic performance and generate noise. As a key part of the multi-wing centrifugal fan, the volute tongue has an important impact on the aerodynamic performance and noise of the multi-wing centrifugal fan. In this paper, the volute tongue of a multi-wing centrifugal fan is modified for air conditioning systems, and a novel gradient-radius volute tongue is designed. Specifically, a simulation calculation model for the multi-wing centrifugal fan is developed based on the Realizable k-ε turbulence model and the Ffowcs Williams–Hawkings (FW-H) equation. The simulation results are analyzed, and the reliability of the proposed method is assessed by comparing the total pressure efficiency and noise levels with the corresponding experimental measurements. Subsequently, the aerodynamic performance and noise characteristics of the gradient-radius volute tongue are investigated, with particular attention given to variations in the flow field, pressure pulsation, and noise before and after the modification. The results indicate that the gradient-radius volute tongue effectively attenuates the pressure pulsations arising from the interaction between the volute and the airflow, thereby reducing the tongue-region noise. Compared with the original fan, a noise reduction of 3.5 dB is achieved through the implementation of the gradient-radius volute tongue.

This paper investigated the disturbance-utilization data-driven attitude coordination control problem for multiple uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) subject to input saturation and multi-source disturbances. First, a modified projection estimation algorithm with a variable weight factor is proposed to improve the estimation ability of the unknown parameters in the dynamic linearization model. Subsequently, two discrete-time disturbance observers are designed to estimate the total unknown terms and measurable disturbances, respectively. Using the modified projection estimation algorithm and the disturbance observers, two data-driven attitude coordination control schemes are developed for disturbance compensation and disturbance utilization, respectively. The proposed disturbance-utilization control scheme can enhance system performance and reduce energy consumption while rationally utilizing the beneficial disturbances. Finally, the proposed control schemes are verified by mathematical analysis and digital simulation.

This paper studies the data-driven attitude tracking control issue for an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) with disturbances. First, a new polynomial finite-time prescribed performance function (FTPF) is introduced to avoid the problem of the computation number increasing as the exponential term increases in the conventional exponential FTPF. By using the new polynomial FTPF, the tracking error is converted into a constrained form. Then, an estimator is designed for estimating the unknown pseudo-partitioned Jacobian matrix (PJM) in the linearization model, and a discrete-time nonlinear disturbance observer (DNDO) is adopted for observing unknown disturbances. It is worth noting that the DNDO can avoid the large overshoot by introducing a saturated function. With the help of the estimator for the PJM, the DNDO, and the constrained error, a data-driven robust control strategy with performance constraints is designed to fulfill accurate attitude tracking control of the UUV, which ensures that the tracking error draws into a prescribed region in a predetermined time. Eventually, the control strategy is verified by numerical simulations.
