In order to achieve high robustness and high-precision current control, this article proposes a disturbance correction observer based on repetitive control (RDCO) for deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC-RDCO) scheme of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In this technology, the disturbance correction based on the disturbance estimation of the extended state observer is presented to enhance the observer robustness. Meanwhile, a repetitive controller is embedded into the disturbance correction term to improve the estimation accuracy of periodic harmonics. Furthermore, the estimation performance, parameter characteristics, and convergence stability of the proposed observer are theoretically analyzed. With the current disturbance and current prediction accurately estimated by the RDCO, the improved DPCC scheme based on the established predictive current model is developed. Compared with the basic schemes, the proposed DPCC-RDCO can effectively suppress current deviation, and achieve excellent dynamic tracking and robust performance. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the studied method are verified experimentally in PMSM drives under different operating conditions.

For the purpose of realizing permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) systems with strong robustness and smooth speed, the quasi-proportional-resonant (QPR) controller is combined with super-twisting extended state observer (STESO) in this paper. Although traditional active disturbance rejection control scheme generally selects a sufficiently large bandwidth of linear extended state observer (LESO) to enhance the time-varying disturbance rejection capacity, the bandwidth of LESO is limited by system stiffness. To solve this tough issue, the STESO using generalized super-twisting technique is developed to optimize the stability and anti-disturbance capacity of motor drive system. In addition, the QPR controller is combined with the proposed STESO to suppress the motor speed fluctuation. Experimental results show that the proposed STESO-based QPR control algorithm has satisfactory characteristics.

To realize stable flight of electricaircraft in complex environments, this article investigates the composite adaptive super-twisting sliding mode (ASTSM) controller for permanent magnet (PM) motor drives utilized in aircraft electrical subsystems. In purpose of enhancing the flight control accuracy of electric aircraft, the large speed fluctuation and poor robustness existing in PM motor drive system have become the primary issues to be addressed. Distinct from the conventional super-twisting sliding mode controller that utilizes the conservative control gain to improve the performance of suppressing disturbance, the proposed barrier function based ASTSM control scheme can adjust the controller gain online according to the actual requirements. By utilizing the characteristics of the barrier function, the motor speed tracking error can be guaranteed to converge within a predefined region. In addition, the augmented input–output model based observer is adopted to compensate for the total disturbance, thereby enhancing the robustness of the electric aircraft flight control system. On this basis, the PM motor drive system can achieve satisfactory disturbance rejection ability without sacrificing its steady-state performance. Representative experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

Owing to the satisfactory disturbance estimation and compensation capacity, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is promising for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed regulation system. Unfortunately, the control performance of ADRC strategy is generally affected by the measurement noise introduced by position sensors. To address this tough issue, an augmented nonlinear extended state observer (ANESO) is constructed in this paper to directly estimate the motor speed. The bode diagrams of the ANESO-based measurement noise suppression approach acquired by the frequency-sweep method are illustrated to show its frequency domain characteristics. Utilizing the advantages of nonlinear control and augmented observer technique, the proposed scheme can obtain satisfactory measurement noise suppression performance without sacrificing the robustness of the PMSM system. Experimental verifications are conducted to verify the superior properties of the proposed measurement noise suppression strategy.

The extended state observer (ESO)-based deadbeat active disturbance rejection control (DB-ADRC) is commonly employed for high-performance torque or current control, however, it performs poorly when rejecting current harmonics caused by periodic disturbances, such as inverter nonlinearities and flux harmonics. The internal model-based method, such as resonant control, can be combined with ESO to mitigate current ripples when the harmonic frequencies are known, which however is not always the case in real applications. In this article, an online-trained radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) compensator with fast training process is integrated into the DB-ADRC system to simultaneously suppress the aperiodic and harmonic disturbances without knowing harmonic frequencies. By using the proposed scheme, current harmonics under various speed and load conditions can be effectively suppressed without affecting dynamic performance. Various experiments are conducted on the test bench based on the dSPACE MicroLabBox and permanentmagnet synchronous motor to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In the conventional active disturbance rejection (ADR) controller for position control, a classical third-order extended state observer (ESO) is used and thus the system is only able to reject a constant disturbance. Though generalized ESO (GESO) has been reported in speed control systems to enhance the low-frequency disturbance rejection property, its implementation in position control system differs because additional position feedback affects system dynamic performance. In this paper, ADR controller integrating proportional and derivative (PD) feedback control and a fourth-order GESO is developed to improve the low-frequency disturbance rejection property. The effect of using different position feedback is analyzed. To simplify the design process, the position controller is modified to have a comparable structure to the speed controller, allowing design methodologies used in the speed control system to be applied to the position control system. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
