Research Professor at the CONACYT-Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD-Center for Research in Food and Development), at Culiacán, México. PhD at The Texas A&M University (Class 2006), major in Food Science and Technology; Master of Science at The CIAD, Sonora, México (Class 1998), major in Nutrition and Food Sciences; Biochemistry Engineer at the TNM IT Culiacán, México (Class 1992); Since 1996, an active member of the Food Science and Technology Group. He teaches Phytochemistry and Food Antioxidants, and collaborates in other lectures like Doctoral Seminars, Food Toxicology and Food Technology. Dr. Heredia is a member of the Mexican CONAHCYT National Reviewer Board, RedSapda 12.3, Somech, IFT and has been recognized in the Mexican National Research System (SNII) since 2009. His research interests are Nutraceuticals and Functional Food Science and Technology (Conventional and Emerging), Postharvest Physiology and Technology, Secondary Plant Metabolism, Stress and Molecular Signaling (Metabolomics), Plant Bioresources as Source for Antioxidants and Bioactive Compounds.
