Biography

Jefferson Hora earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Microelectronics IC Design from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Ultimo, NSW, Australia, in 2022. His doctoral work centered on energy-efficient mixed-signal and low-power integrated circuits for sensing, energy-harvesting, and embedded applications. He completed his M.Sc. in Microelectronics Integrated Circuits Design at the National Taipei University (NTPU), Taiwan, in 2009, further strengthening his expertise in analog/digital IC design, semiconductor modeling, and system-level simulations. He previously obtained his B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Mindanao State University, the Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), Philippines, in 2002. Dr. Hora is currently a Professor of Electronics Engineering at MSU-IIT and serves as the Director of the Center for Integrated Circuits Design (CICD). In this capacity, he leads strategic initiatives to enhance the university’s research capabilities in microelectronics, particularly in integrated circuit design, semiconductor education, and industry collaboration. His research interests include power electronics, DC–DC converters, energy-harvesting ICs, FPGA-based design, wireless sensor network circuits, and embedded systems.
