Doctor in Biology and Executive Director of Fundacion Nueva Cultura del Agua (New Water Culture Foundation, www.fnca.eu/en). She has participated in around 25 national and international research projects with strong emphasis on inter and transdisciplinary approaches focusing on the dynamics and modelling of socio-ecological systems and scenario analysis, the development of water sustainability indicators, the environmental and socio-economic interactions of water management, the effectos of climate change on Mediterranean biodiversity and the ecology of water-related systems, particularly wetlands and coastal lagoons and their watersheds.
