I am Marcos, a researcher in Genetics and Animal Breeding at Embrapa since 2011. My academic background includes a degree in Animal Science, followed by a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Animal Breeding. I hold a specialization in quantitative genetics from INIA (Madrid, Spain) and completed a doctoral internship (sandwich Ph.D.) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My career also includes experience as an Adjunct Professor at Unioeste-PR and previous work in the private sector specializing in ultrasound evaluation of bovine carcasses. Currently, my research focuses on Animal Production, specifically advancing genetic evaluation methodologies for beef cattle. My expertise encompasses quantitative and genomic statistics, Bayesian inference, genetic evaluation modeling, and structural equation modeling. I am dedicated to optimizing difficult to measure phenotypes and analyzing the complexities of genotype environment interaction to benefit the livestock industry.
