Mario Vega-Barbas was born in Guadalajara, Spain, in 1984. He received his BS and MS degrees in computer science from Universidad de Alcalá (UAH), Spain, in 2009, and his Ph.D. degrees in telematics and in applied medical technology from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, and the KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Professor and a Senior Researcher within the research group on Telecommunication and Internet Networks and Services within UPM. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institute, and Medical Sensors, Signals and Systems, KTH, Sweden. Assist. Prof. Vega-Barbas has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications, including books, book chapters, journal articles and conference papers. His research interests include data analysis and visualization, ubicomp, pervasive sensitive services, cybersecurity, user-oriented security, and the development of IoT solutions.
