Rafał Misa has served as a lecturer at AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland). He holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Civil Engineering, BSc in Surveying from AGH University of Science and Technology, and a BSc Hons in Civil Engineering from Abertay University (UK). Since 2010, Rafał has been a part of Prof. Sroka's team at the Strata Mechanics Research Institute Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow. His work has involved the area of surface protection against the effects of exploitation. He is particularly interested in mining geomechanics and geotechnics. He is the co-organizer of the Altbergbau-Kolloquium (involving the problem of old mining) and the Knothe Conference (involving the problem of mining-induced rock mass deformation). Rafał is the author and co-author of 45 scientific papers, 6 research projects (national and international), and more than 60 engineering projects and expert opinions in the fields of coal mining, ore mining, salt mining, civil engineering, and geotechnics that were completed in Poland and beyond its borders.
