Nadeem Fareed obtained his bachelor's in sciences (B.Sc.) from Punjab University in Lahore in 2008, an M.Sc. in space sciences from Punjab University in Lahore in 2010, and a Master's in GIS and remote sensing from COMSATS Islamabad in 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geomatics from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan (2021). Currently, he is a research faculty in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada, USA. In this project, he is involved in wildfire modeling using remote sensing, GIS and LiDAR datasets.
Before that he served as postdoctoral research associated at the Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence, Department of Geography and Geospatial Sciences, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota USA. At SDSU he was primarily engaged in Above ground biomass modeling in Amazon region under the SERVIR NASA project using ALS and GEDI datasets along with forest field inventories.
Before that, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Agriculture and Biosystem Engineering, North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota, USA. In ABEN-NDSU he contributed in precision agriculture using UASs multi-spectral and UAS-LiDAR datasets. in He has a research background in GIS, remote sensing, LiDAR, artificial neural networks, forestry, precision agriculture and vegetation remote sensing.
