Information Technology is a combination of technology itself and a collection of Information Technology services, or IT services, that ensure the effective implementation of overall Information Technology in an organization. Like other services, Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) has become a global subject because managing IT is only possible through efficient and effective ITSM protocols. A well-implemented ITSM delivery system improves the quality of IT services, eventually enhancing an organization’s overall capacity and output. This research study reviews some of the established ITSM standards and frameworks like FitSM, ITIL, CobiT, and ISO/IEC 20000. While focusing on their suitability and sustainability, a suitable tool and its implementation roadmap are proposed for an effective and efficient ITSM delivery in Public Sector Organizations (PSOs) based on the strategy “one size fits all.” We have selected one of the PSOs for our study, working under the Government of Punjab (GoPb). The specific contribution of this research work is to highlight an important area that has not yet been adequately focused, where ITSM delivery can produce tremendous outputs. In this study, qualitative research is conducted, the data is collected through a questionnaire, and the results are shown and discussed in the later sections. This study contributes to academics and researchers since it discussed the implementation roadmap for a PSO based on its needs, requirements, and available resources.

Smart cities have emerged as a specialized domain encompassing various technologies, transitioning from civil engineering to technology-driven solutions. The accelerated development of technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), software-defined networks (SDN), 5G, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and analytics, has played a crucial role in providing solutions for smart cities. Smart cities heavily rely on devices, ad hoc networks, and cloud computing to integrate and streamline various activities towards common goals. However, the complexity arising from multiple cloud service providers offering myriad services necessitates a stable and coherent platform for sustainable operations. The Smart City Operational Platform Ecology (SCOPE) model has been developed to address the growing demands, and incorporates machine learning, cognitive correlates, ecosystem management, and security. SCOPE provides an ecosystem that establishes a balance for achieving sustainability and progress. In the context of smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT) devices play a significant role in enabling automation and data capture. This research paper focuses on a specific module of SCOPE, which deals with data processing and learning mechanisms for object identification in smart cities. Specifically, it presents a car parking system that utilizes smart identification techniques to identify vacant slots. The learning controller in SCOPE employs a two-tier approach, and utilizes two different models, namely Alex Net and YOLO, to ensure procedural stability and improvement.

The digital transformation disrupts the various professional domains in different ways, though one aspect is common: the unified platform known as cloud computing. Corporate solutions, IoT systems, analytics, business intelligence, and numerous tools, solutions and systems use cloud computing as a global platform. The migrations to the cloud are increasing, causing it to face new challenges and complexities. One of the essential segments is related to data storage. Data storage on the cloud is neither simplistic nor conventional; rather, it is becoming more and more complex due to the versatility and volume of data. The inspiration of this research is based on the development of a framework that can provide a comprehensive solution for cloud computing storage in terms of replication, and instead of using formal recovery channels, erasure coding has been proposed for this framework, which in the past proved itself as a trustworthy mechanism for the job. The proposed framework provides a hybrid approach to combine the benefits of replication and erasure coding to attain the optimal solution for storage, specifically focused on reliability and recovery. Learning and training mechanisms were developed to provide dynamic structure building in the future and test the data model. RAID architecture is used to formulate different configurations for the experiments. RAID-1 to RAID-6 are divided into two groups, with RAID-1 to 4 in the first group while RAID-5 and 6 are in the second group, further categorized based on FTT, parity, failure range and capacity. Reliability and recovery are evaluated on the rest of the data on the server side, and for the data in transit at the virtual level. The overall results show the significant impact of the proposed hybrid framework on cloud storage performance. RAID-6c at the server side came out as the best configuration for optimal performance. The mirroring for replication using RAID-6 and erasure coding for recovery work in complete coherence provide good results for the current framework while highlighting the interesting and challenging paths for future research

Cloud computing makes dynamic resource provisioning more accessible. Monitoring a functioning service is crucial, and changes are made when particular criteria are surpassed. This research explores the decentralized multi-cloud environment for allocating resources and ensuring the Quality of Service (QoS), estimating the required resources, and modifying allotted resources depending on workload and parallelism due to resources. Resource allocation is a complex challenge due to the versatile service providers and resource providers. The engagement of different service and resource providers needs a cooperation strategy for a sustainable quality of service. The objective of a coherent and rational resource allocation is to attain the quality of service. It also includes identifying critical parameters to develop a resource allocation mechanism. A framework is proposed based on the specified parameters to formulate a resource allocation process in a decentralized multi-cloud environment. The three main parameters of the proposed framework are data accessibility, optimization, and collaboration. Using an optimization technique, these three segments are further divided into subsets for resource allocation and long-term service quality. The CloudSim simulator has been used to validate the suggested framework. Several experiments have been conducted to find the best configurations suited for enhancing collaboration and resource allocation to achieve sustained QoS. The results support the suggested structure for a decentralized multi-cloud environment and the parameters that have been determined.

Efficient feature selection is an important phase of designing an effective text categorization system. Various feature selection methods have been proposed for selecting dissimilar feature sets. It is often essential to evaluate that which method is more effective for a given task and what size of feature set is an effective model selection choice. Aim of this paper is to answer these questions for designing Urdu text categorization system. Five widely used feature selection methods were examined using six well-known classification algorithms: naive Bays (NB), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), support vector machines (SVM) with linear, polynomial and radial basis kernels and decision tree (i.e. J48). The study was conducted over two test collections: EMILLE collection and a naive collection. We have observed that three feature selection methods i.e. information gain, Chi statistics, and symmetrical uncertain, have performed uniformly in most of the cases if not all. Moreover, we have found that no single feature selection method is best for all classifiers. While gain ratio out-performed others for naive Bays and J48, information gain has shown top performance for KNN and SVM with polynomial and radial basis kernels. Overall, linear SVM with any of feature selection methods including information gain, Chi statistics or symmetric uncertain methods is turned-out to be first choice across other combinations of classifiers and feature selection methods on moderate size naive collection. On the other hand, naive Bays with any of feature selection method have shown its advantage for a small sized EMILLE corpus.

In the cloud environment, the transfer of data from one cloud server to another cloud server is called migration. Data can be delivered in various ways, from one data centre to another. This research aims to increase the migration performance of the virtual machine (VM) in the cloud environment. VMs allow cloud customers to store essential data and resources. However, server usage has grown dramatically due to the virtualization of computer systems, resulting in higher data centre power consumption, storage needs, and operating expenses. Multiple VMs on one data centre manage share resources like central processing unit (CPU) cache, network bandwidth, memory, and application bandwidth. In multi-cloud, VM migration addresses the performance degradation due to cloud server configuration, unbalanced traffic load, resource load management, and fault situations during data transfer. VM migration speed is influenced by the size of the VM, the dirty rate of the running application, and the latency of migration iterations. As a result, evaluating VM migration performance while considering all of these factors becomes a difficult task. The main effort of this research is to assess migration problems on performance. The simulation results in Matlab show that if the VM size grows, the migration time of VMs and the downtime can be impacted by three orders of magnitude. The dirty page rate decreases, the migration time and the downtime grow, and the latency time decreases as network bandwidth increases during the migration time and post-migration overhead calculation when the VM transfer is completed. All the simulated cases of VMs migration were performed in a fuzzy inference system with performance graphs.
