Rizwan Rafique Syed received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering from MUET, Pakistan, in 2007 and then his M.Sc. from TU Delft (NL) and NTNU (NO) in 2015 under the European Wind Energy Master (EWEM) program. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in digital substation technology, focusing on its dependability and performance analysis. He has 12+ years of diverse work experience in designing and maintaining electrical systems in the oil and gas and power utility industries.
