My research focuses on advanced smart materials and their applications in vibration control, impact resistance, and energy dissipation. I have worked extensively on shear thickening fluids (STFs), magnetorheological (MR) fluids, and superhydrophobic materials, with the goal of developing innovative protective systems and functional surfaces. My interests lie in understanding the rheological behaviour of complex fluids and composites under dynamic loading, and translating these insights into practical engineering solutions for safety, defence, and energy applications. I am particularly interested in the design of adaptive materials that respond intelligently to external stimuli such as stress, magnetic fields, and environmental conditions. This includes STF-impregnated foams for next-generation helmet protection, MR electrolytes with controllable viscosity for advanced batteries, and superhydrophobic coatings for maritime environments. Alongside my experimental work, I integrate finite element modelling and computational analysis to bridge material behaviour with structural performance. I also have broad interests in vibration dynamics, system control, and engineering mechanics, linking smart materials with intelligent actuators and sensors to improve vibration mitigation strategies.
