Tullio Ricci is a senior volcano scientist at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV, Italy), where he has been working since 2008. He has studied volcanoes on six continents, and his research mainly focuses on multidisciplinary and multidimensional imaging of volcanoes. This includes characterization of hydrothermal systems, volcanic structures, morphological variations, fluid circulation, degassing processes, gas hazard, explosive eruptive dynamics, and risk perception for volcanic hazards, with implications for volcano monitoring, hazard assessment, and human health. He authored/co-authored over 100 scientific articles. In addition, Tullio Ricci is a member of the INGVvulcani working group, devoted to communicating about volcanoes and volcanology.
