Dr. Uday M. Basheer Al-Naib is an Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), with over 30 years of research experience and 17 years of international teaching. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and has made significant contributions to the fields of thermoelectric materials, ceramic-metal composites, aluminum matrix composites, and advanced coating systems. He has supervised numerous PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students, secured over RM 1.3 million in research funding, and published 60+ peer-reviewed articles (h-index: 23, >2200 citations). Dr. Al-Naib serves on multiple editorial boards, including Frontiers in Materials and IntechOpen, and has been recognized with several awards such as the Elsevier 3D Printing Challenge Winner and UTM Research Excellence Award. His research integrates advanced materials design, surface engineering, and sustainable reinforcement technologies for automotive and energy applications. He is a Chartered Engineer (UK), Professional Technologist (Malaysia), and an active member of TWI.
