Subjects with limited application in the software industry like AI have recently received tremendous boon due to the development and raise of publicity of LLMs. LLM-powered software has a wide array of practical applications that must be taught to Software Engineering students, so that they can be relevant in the field. The speed of technological change is extremely fast, and university curriculums must include those changes. Renewing and creating new methodologies and workshops is a difficult task to complete successfully in such a dynamic environment full of cutting-edge technologies. This paper aims to showcase our approach to using LLM-powered software for AI generated images, like Stable diffusion and code generation tools like ChatGPT in workshops for two relevant subjects – Analysis of Software Requirements and Specifications, as well as Artificial Intelligence. A comparison between the different available LLMs that generate images is made, and the choice between them is explained. Student feedback is shown and a general positive and motivational impact is noted during and after the workshop. A brief introduction that covers the subjects where AI is applied is made. The proposed solutions for several uses of AI in the field of higher education, more specifically software engineering, are presented. Several workshops have been made and included in the curriculum. The results of their application have been noted and an analysis is made. More propositions on further development based on the gained experience, feedback and retrieved data are made. Conclusions are made on the application of AI in higher education and different ways to utilize such tools are presented.

Augmented reality in education is surging in popularity in schools worldwide. Through augmented reality (AR), educators are able to improve learning outcomes through increased engagement and interactivity. Augmented Reality (AR) in education features aspects that enhance learning abilities like problem-solving, collaboration, and creation to better prepare students for the future. It is also good for traditional pedagogy focused on technical knowledge and proficiencies. An analysis is made on the innovative technology for generating 3D models - the RealityScan application by Epic Games for iOS. Several characteristics and functionalities of the application are described and tested. Methodologies and workshops based on them are created and presented.A process of including the aforementioned technologies in the curriculum and easing the students into using such tools in their future professional career is created and partially implemented. Several benefits of becoming familiar with such technologies are analyzed. A conclusion is made on several critical points that have to be addressed when implementing the necessary steps for improving the education system using AR.

An observation on the current state of teaching large language models (LLMs) in education is made. The problem of lacking a structural approach is defined. A methodology is created in order to serve as the basis of a workshop in teaching students with different types of backgrounds the correct use of LLMs and their capabilities. A workshop plan is created; instructions and materials are presented. A practical experiment has been conducted by dividing students into teams and guiding them to create a small project. Different LLMs are used for the purposes of creating a fictional story, images relating to the story, and very simple HTML, JS, and CSS code. Participants are given requirements that consider the limitations of LLMs, and different approaches to creatively solving arising issues due to the requirements are observed. The students’ projects are hosted on the web, so that they can see the results of their work. They are given the opportunity to use them as motivation for their future development. A survey is created and distributed to all the participating students. The results are analyzed from different angles and conclusions are made on the effectiveness of the workshop in completing its goal of solving the defined problem.

This report will briefly introduce the flipped classroom and immersive learning approaches in mechanical engineering. A description of some of the problems with the current mechanical engineering education will be provided. Advantages and disadvantages of flipped classroom and immersive learning will be discussed. Several small scale realized programming application modules that allow adopting the methodologies will be included. The measurement of a broach practical exercise will be studied in detail. A database for a web application combining the different modules in a hub will be shown and its further development will be described. Conclusions about the feasibility of the endeavor and its impact will be made.
