Firas H. Kobeissy, Ph.D., Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Florida, received a Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience from the University of Florida in Gainseville, Florida. With over 25 years of experience in his field, Dr. Kobeissy utilizes state-of-the-art proteomic tools to investigate cell death mechanisms involved in different brain insults. Other areas of research interests include traumatic brain injury/blast injury, neurotoxicity, cell death mechanisms, and neuroproteomics. Dr. Kobeissy is the author of several articles, reviews, book chapters, and three international patents. Dr. Kobeissy belongs to several professional societies, including the American Society for Mass Spectrophotometry, the Society for Biological Psychiatry, the American Society for Microbiology, and the Society for Neuroscience.
