Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to design a model that can accurately forecast the supply chain sales. Design/methodology/approach: This paper proposed a new model based on lightGBM and LSTM to forecast the supply chain sales. In order to verify the accuracy and efficiency of this model, three representative supply chain sales data sets are selected for experiments. Findings: The experimental results show that the combined model can forecast supply chain sales with high accuracy, efficiency and interpretability. Practical implications: With the rapid development of big data and AI, using big data analysis and algorithm technology to accurately forecast the long-term sales of goods will provide the database for the supply chain and key technical support for enterprises to establish supply chain solutions. This paper provides an effective method for supply chain sales forecasting, which can help enterprises to scientifically and reasonably forecast long-term commodity sales. Originality/value: The proposed model not only inherits the ability of LSTM model to automatically mine high-level temporal features, but also has the advantages of lightGBM model, such as high efficiency, strong interpretability, which is suitable for industrial production environment.

In this article, an online adaptive optimal control algorithm based on adaptive dynamic programming is developed to solve the multiplayer nonzero-sum game (MP-NZSG) for discrete-time unknown nonlinear systems. First, a model-free coupled globalized dual-heuristic dynamic programming (GDHP) structure is designed to solve the MP-NZSG problem, in which there is no model network or identifier. Second, in order to relax the requirement of systems dynamics, an online adaptive learning algorithm is developed to solve the Hamilton-Jacobi equation using the system states of two adjacent time steps. Third, a series of critic networks and action networks are used to approximate value functions and optimal policies for all players. All the neural network (NN) weights are updated online based on real-time system states. Fourth, the uniformly ultimate boundedness analysis of the NN approximation errors is proved based on the Lyapunov approach. Finally, simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed scheme.

In this paper, the optimal control scheme for ice-storage air conditioning (IAC) system is solved via a data-based adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) method. It is the first time that adaptive dynamic programming is employed to design a self-learning scheme which obtains the optimal control policy of ice-storage air conditioning system. First, based on the data of the temperature, irradiance and cooling load in an actual project, a prediction model of cooling load is built by a three-layer neural network with the performance verification. Second, the operation of the ice-storage air conditioning system is analyzed. Third, a data-based adaptive dynamic programming method is designed to realize a self-learning optimal control for the ice-storage air conditioning system. Then, numerical results show that using the data-based optimal control method can reduce the operation costs. Finally, the comparison results show that the developed adaptive dynamic programming method improves the system efficiency, minimizing the overall cost. Thus, the superiority of the developed algorithm is verified.

The categorization and identification of agricultural imagery constitute the fundamental requisites of contemporary farming practices. Among the various methods employed for image classification and recognition, the convolutional neural network (CNN) stands out as the most extensively utilized and swiftly advancing machine learning technique. Its immense potential for advancing precision agriculture cannot be understated. By comprehensively reviewing the progress made in CNN applications throughout the entire crop growth cycle, this study aims to provide an updated account of these endeavors spanning the years 2020 to 2023. During the seed stage, classification networks are employed to effectively categorize and screen seeds. In the vegetative stage, image classification and recognition play a prominent role, with a diverse range of CNN models being applied, each with its own specific focus. In the reproductive stage, CNN’s application primarily centers around target detection for mechanized harvesting purposes. As for the post-harvest stage, CNN assumes a pivotal role in the screening and grading of harvested products. Ultimately, through a comprehensive analysis of the prevailing research landscape, this study presents the characteristics and trends of current investigations, while outlining the future developmental trajectory of CNN in crop identification and classification.

Specular reflections pose great challenges on various multimedia and computer vision tasks, e.g. , image segmentation, detection and matching. In this paper, we build a large-scale Paired Specular-Diffuse (PSD) image dataset, where the images are carefully captured by using real-world objects and the ground-truth specular-free diffuse images are provided. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first real-world benchmark dataset for specular highlight removal task, which is useful for evaluating and encouraging new deep learning-based approaches. Given this dataset, we present a novel Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) for specular highlight removal from a single image by introducing the detection of specular reflection information as a guidance. Our network also makes full use of the attention mechanism and is able to directly model the mapping relation between the diffuse area and the specular highlight area without any explicit estimation of the illumination. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed network is more effective to remove specular reflection components with the guidance of specular highlight detection than recent state-of-the-art methods.
