The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified that diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most prevalent disease worldwide. Individuals with DM have a higher risk of mortality, and it is crucial to prioritize the treatment of foot ulcers, which is a significant complication associated with the disease, as they lead to the development of plantar ulcers, which results in the need to amputate part of the foot or leg. People with diabetes are at risk of experiencing various complications, such as heart disease, eye problems, kidney dysfunction, nerve damage, skin issues, foot ulcers, and dental diseases. Unawareness of the risk associated with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) is a significant contributing factor to the mortality of diabetic patients. Evolving technological advancements such as deep learning techniques can be used to predict the symptoms of diabetic foot ulcers as early as possible, which helps to provide effective treatment to DM patients. This research introduces a methodology for analyzing images of foot ulcers in diabetic patients, focusing on feature extraction and classification. The dataset used in this study was collected from historical medical records and foot images of patients with diabetes, who commonly experience foot ulcers as a major complication. The dataset was pre-processed and segmented, and features were extracted using a deep recurrent neural network (DRNN). Image and numerical/text data were extracted separately, and the normal and abnormal diabetes ranges were identified. Foot images of patients with abnormal diabetes ranges were separated and classified using a pre-trained fast convolutional neural network (PFCNN) with U++net. The classification procedure involves the analysis of foot ulcers to predict their pathogenesis. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed technique, the study presented simulation results, including a confusion matrix and receiver operating characteristic curve. These results specifically focused on predicting two classes: normal and abnormal diabetes foot ulcerations. The analysis yielded various parameters, including accuracy, precision, recall curve, and area under the curve. The main goal of the study was to introduce an novel technique for assessing the risk of foot ulceration development in patients with diabetes, leveraging the analysis of foot ulcer images. The researchers collected a dataset of foot images and medical data from historical records of patients with diabetes and pre-processed and segmented the data. They then used a deep recurrent neural network to extract features from the segmented data and identified normal and abnormal diabetes ranges based on numerical and text data. Foot images of patients with abnormal diabetes ranges were classified using a pre-trained fast convolutional neural network with U++net to examine foot ulcers and forecast the development of the risk of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The study assessed the accuracy of the proposed technique as 99.32% by simulating results for feature extraction and the classification of diabetic foot ulcers. A comparison was made between this proposed technique and existing approaches.

To communicate efficiently with a prospective user, auditory interfaces are employed in mobile communication devices. Diverse sounds in different volumes are used to alert the user in various devices such as mobile phones, modern laptops and domestic appliances. These alert noises behave erroneously in dynamic noise environments, leading to major annoyances to the user. In noisy environments, as sounds can be played quietly, this leads to the improper masked rendering of the necessary information. To overcome these issues, a multi-model sensing technique is developed as a smartphone application to achieve automatic volume control in a smart phone. Based on the ambient environment, the volume is automatically controlled such that it is maintained at an appropriate level for the user. By identifying the average noise level of the ambient environment from dynamic microphone and together with the activity recognition data obtained from the inertial sensors, the automatic volume control is achieved. Experiments are conducted with five different mobile devices at various noise-level environments and different user activity states. Results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed application for active volume control in dynamic environments.

Cardiovascular diseases currently present a key health concern, contributing to an increase in death rates worldwide. In this phase of increasing mortality rates, healthcare represents a major field of research, and the knowledge acquired from this analysis of health information will assist in the early identification of disease. The retrieval of medical information is becoming increasingly important to make an early diagnosis and provide timely treatment. Medical image segmentation and classification is an emerging field of research in medical image processing. In this research, the data collected from an Internet of Things (IoT)-based device, the health records of patients, and echocardiogram images are considered. The images are pre-processed and segmented, and then further processed using deep learning techniques for classification as well as forecasting the risk of heart disease. Segmentation is attained via fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) and classification using a pretrained recurrent neural network (PRCNN). Based on the findings, the proposed approach achieves 99.5% accuracy, which is higher than the current state-of-the-art techniques.

Hazardous gas contamination causes threat to human life. In many developing countries, the sewers are still cleaned by unskilled laborers. Situations may arise where harmful gases may get emitted via sewage and can potentially endanger life. Furthermore, in coal mining, there is a possibility of hitting a source of natural gas which cannot be determined unless or until a sensor is utilized. To prevent such hazardous situations, this new gas detection system detects those types of gases, analyzes them for us and provides essential details about it.Our system is designed to track the presence of hazardous gases, identify the safety limit and calculate the level in that situation, thereby preventing hazards to human life. It allows detection of carbon monoxide and methane at the given time, along with their accurate concentration values in ppm. The system also provides a threat detection alert so that the persons immediately evacuate that area, thereby preventing any possible dangers. The alert messages are broadcasted using GSM technology and hence, can be used to notify other rescue workers about the potential hazard the worker is facing at the moment
