Maricel Agop, PhD, is a Professor in the Physics Department
at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi and a graduate of the Faculty
of Physics, Al. I. Cuza University Iasi. His main area of interest is the use
of nonlinear dynamics in the study of different physical systems (plasma,
nanostructures, and composites). In recent years, he has turned his attention
towards biological systems, especially those connected to the medicine (solid
tumors and cancer cells) and pharmaceutical fields (polymeric drug delivery
systems). He has published 176 articles in ISI journals, 30 books with Romanian
publishers, and 16 books with international publishers, all with impacts
reflected in the Hirsch factor value (h-index:17). As a PhD adviser, he has
coordinated the doctoral studies of 31 PhD students, and he has also
participated in a total of 18 research contracts, 4 as a project director and
14 as a member of the project team.
