A sustainable power source to meet the needs of energy requirement is very much essential in modern society as the conventional sources are depleting. Bioenergy, hydropower, solar, and wind are some of the well-established renewable energy sources that help to attain the need for energy at mega to gigawatts power scale. Nanogenerators based on nano energy are the growing technology that facilitate self-powered systems, sensors, and flexible and portable electronics in the booming era of IoT (Internet of Things). The nanogenerators can harvest small-scale energy from the ambient nature and surroundings for efficient utilization. The nanogenerators were based on piezo, tribo, and pyroelectric effect, and the first of its kind was developed in the year 2006 by Wang et al. The invention of nanogenerators is a breakthrough in the field of ambient energy-harvesting techniques as they are lightweight, easily fabricated, sustainable, and care-free systems. In this paper, a comprehensive review on fundamentals, performance, recent developments, and application of nanogenerators in self-powered sensors, wind energy harvesting, blue energy harvesting, and its integration with solar photovoltaics are discussed. Finally, the outlook and challenges in the growth of this technology are also outlined.
Existing DC fast-charging stations are experiencing power quality issues such as high harmonics in the line current, poor power factor in the input supply, and overloading of distribution transformers, due to the dynamic behavior of charging patterns when it is connected to the power grid. Most of the recent works involve the usage of renewable energy sources to mitigate the issues on the distribution grid. In order to design a mobile plug and play DC fast charging station, solar energy is the best and viable solution to carry out. In this paper, plug and play solar photovoltaic power plant to charge electric vehicles (EVs) is proposed and modelled using MATLAB/Simulink software. The proposed system can act as a mobile power plant. The controller allows the system to charge the battery, whenever there is abundant solar energy. Incoming EVs will be charged directly from the system battery where the charger acts as a rapid charging system. The proposed system can meet the concept of Solar Photovoltaic Rapid Charging Stations (SPRCS), which shows that 80% of charge can be fed to an EV in 10.25 min.
Software engineering plays crucial systems shaper role, in the modern electric mobility advances. We investigate impacts of software-related strategies in industry 4.0 electric mobility era. Impacts of software-defined vehicles for the automobile industry future are covered with core contribution on discussion the mobile applications and solutions from manufacturers and 3rd parties. We explore Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in electric mobility and also their roles in terms of a seamless user experience. We cover integration and contributions of software engineering techniques to the phenomenon, including: blockchain, Machine Learning, and deep learning in terms of solutions to solve problems related to electric vehicle batteries and charging station-related matters. And last, barriers of user adoption are discussed with development areas for software-based features. Study concludes with in-depth view of the relationship between software and electric mobility future research opportunities.
In this paper, PV system and WEC system is connected to individual converter units which are controlled individually to supply the demand continuously without fluctuations. The control is being provided using maximum power point tracking technique for PV system and PI closed loop control for Wind system. The output of the hybrid systems are connected to a common dc bus where the constant voltage is maintained using above mentioned control methods. The DC power available at the dc bus is supplied to the load after inversion using a multiple pulse or sinusoidal pulse inverter circuit.
