With global warming, the decrease in sea ice creates favorable conditions for Arctic activities. Sea surface temperature (SST) is not only an important driven factor of sea ice concentration (SIC) changes but also an important medium of the ocean–atmosphere interaction. However, the response of sea surface temperature to Arctic sea ice varies in different sea areas. Using the optimal interpolated SST data from the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) and SIC data from the University of Bremen, the temporal and spatial characteristics of SST and SIC in the Arctic above 60°N and their relationship are studied, and the melting and freezing time of sea ice are calculated, which is particularly important for the prediction of Arctic shipping and sea ice. The results show that (1) the highest and lowest monthly mean Arctic SST occur in August and March, respectively, while those of SIC are in March and September. The maximum trends of SST and SIC changes are in autumn, which are +0.01 °C/year and −0.45%/year, respectively. (2) There is a significant negative correlation between the Arctic SST and SIC with a correlation coefficient of −0.82. (3) The sea ice break-up occurs on Day of the Year (DoY) 143 and freeze-up occurs on DoY 296 in the Arctic. The melting and freezing processes lasted for 27 days and 14 days, respectively. (4) The Kara Sea showed the strongest trend of sea ice melting at −1.22 d/year, followed by the Laptev Sea at −1.17 d/year. The delay trend of sea ice freezing was the most significant in the Kara Sea +1.75 d/year, followed by the Laptev Sea +1.70 d/year. In the Arctic, the trend toward earlier melting of sea ice is smaller than the trend toward later freezing.

Hyperspectral unmixing is a popular research topic in hyperspectral processing, aiming at obtaining the ground features contained in the mixed pixels and their proportion. Recently, nonlinear mixing models have received particular attention in hyperspectral decomposition since the linear mixing model cannot suitably apply in the situation that exists in multiple scattering. In this article, we constructed a residual dense autoencoder network (RDAE) for nonlinear hyperspectral unmixing in multiple scattering scenarios. First, an encoder was built based on the residual dense network (RDN) and attention layer. The RDN is employed to characterize multiscale representations, which are further transformed with the attention layer to estimate the abundance maps. Second, we designed a decoder based on the unfolding of a generalized bilinear model to extract endmembers and estimate their second-order scattering interactions. Comparative experiments between the RDAE and six other state-of-the-art methods under synthetic and real hyperspectral datasets demonstrate that the proposed method achieved a better performance in terms of endmember extraction and abundance estimation.

The suddenness of landslide disasters often causes significant loss of life and property. Accurate assessment of landslide disaster susceptibility is of great significance in enhancing the ability of accurate disaster prevention. To address the problems of strong subjectivity in the selection of assessment indicators and low efficiency of the assessment process caused by the insufficient application of a priori knowledge in landslide susceptibility assessment, in this paper, we propose a novel landslide susceptibility assessment framework by combing domain knowledge graph and machine learning algorithms. Firstly, we combine unstructured data, extract priori knowledge based on the Unified Structure Generation for Universal Information Extraction Pre-trained model (UIE) fine-tuned with a small amount of labeled data to construct a landslide susceptibility knowledge graph. We use Paired Relation Vectors (PairRE) to characterize the knowledge graph, then construct a target area characterization factor recommendation model by calculating spatial correlation, attribute similarity, Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) metrics. We select the optimal model and optimal feature combination among six typical machine learning (ML) models to construct interpretable landslide disaster susceptibility assessment mapping. Experimental validation and analysis are carried out on the three gorges area (TGA), and the results show the effectiveness of the feature factors recommended by the knowledge graph characterization learning, with the overall accuracy of the model after adding associated disaster factors reaching 87.2%. The methodology proposed in this research is a better contribution to the knowledge and data-driven assessment of landslide disaster susceptibility.

Rigid registration of 3D indoor scenes is a fundamental yet vital task in various fields that include remote sensing (e.g., 3D reconstruction of indoor scenes), photogrammetry measurement, geometry modeling, etc. Nevertheless, state-of-the-art registration approaches still have defects when dealing with low-quality indoor scene point clouds derived from consumer-grade RGB-D sensors. The major challenge is accurately extracting correspondences between a pair of low-quality point clouds when they contain considerable noise, outliers, or weak texture features. To solve the problem, we present a point cloud registration framework in view of RGB-D information. First, we propose a point normal filter for effectively removing noise and simultaneously maintaining sharp geometric features and smooth transition regions. Second, we design a correspondence extraction scheme based on a novel descriptor encoding textural and geometry information, which can robustly establish dense correspondences between a pair of low-quality point clouds. Finally, we propose a point-to-plane registration technology via a nonconvex regularizer, which can further diminish the influence of those false correspondences and produce an exact rigid transformation between a pair of point clouds. Compared to existing state-of-the-art techniques, intensive experimental results demonstrate that our registration framework is excellent visually and numerically, especially for dealing with low-quality indoor scenes.
