The rapid development of different social media and content-sharing platforms has been largely exploited to spread misinformation and fake news that make people believing in harmful stories, which allow to influence public opinion, and could cause panic and chaos among population. Thus, fake news detection has become an important research topic, aiming at flagging a specific content as fake or legitimate. The fake news detection solutions can be divided into three main categories: content-based, social context-based, and knowledge-based approaches. In this paper, we propose a novel hybrid fake news detection system that combines linguistic and knowledge-based approaches and inherits their advantages, by employing two different sets of features: (1) linguistic features (i.e., title, number of words, reading ease, lexical diversity, and sentiment), and (2) a novel set of knowledge-based features, called fact-verification features that comprise three types of information namely, (i) reputation of the website where the news is published, (ii) coverage , i.e., number of sources that published the news, and (iii) fact-check , i.e., opinion of well-known fact-checking websites about the news, i.e., true or false. The proposed system only employs eight features, which is less than most of the state-of-the-art approaches. Also, the evaluation results on a fake news dataset show that the proposed system employing both types of features can reach an accuracy of 94.4%, which is better compared to that obtained from separately employing linguistic features (i.e., accuracy=89.4%) and fact-verification features (i.e., accuracy=81.2%).

The airport gate assignment problem (AGAP) is one of the most important problems operations managers face daily. Many researches have been done to solve this problem and tackle its complexity. The objective of the task is assigning each flight (aircraft) to an available gate while maximizing both conveniences to passengers and the operational efficiency of airport. This objective requires a solution that provides the ability to change and update the gate assignment data on a real time basis. In this paper, we survey the state of the art of these problems and the various methods to obtain the solution. Our survey covers both theoretical and real AGAP with the description of mathematical formulations and resolution methods such as exact algorithms, heuristic algorithms, and metaheuristic algorithms. We also provide a research trend that can inspire researchers about new problems in this area.

We investigate three aspects of dynamicity in ad hoc and wireless sensor networks and their impact on the efficiency of intrusion detection systems (IDSs). The first aspect is magnitude dynamicity, in which the IDS has to efficiently determine whether the changes occurring in the network are due to malicious behaviors or or due to normal changing of user requirements. The second aspect is nature dynamicity that occurs when a malicious node is continuously switching its behavior between normal and anomalous to cause maximum network disruption without being detected by the IDS. The third aspect, named spatiotemporal dynamicity, happens when a malicious node moves out of the IDS range before the latter can make an observation about its behavior. The first aspect is solved by defining a normal profile based on the invariants derived from the normal node behavior. The second aspect is handled by proposing an adaptive reputation fading strategy that allows fast redemption and fast capture of malicious node. The third aspect is solved by estimating the link duration between two nodes in dynamic network topology, which allows choosing the appropriate monitoring period. We provide analytical studies and simulation experiments to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed solutions.

The optimal conditions of applied factors to reuse Aluminium AA6061 scraps are (450, 500, and 550) ⁰C preheating temperature, (1–15) % Boron Carbide (B4C), and Zirconium (ZrO2) hybrid reinforced particles at 120 min forging time via Hot Forging (HF) process. The response surface methodology (RSM) and machine learning (ML) were established for the optimisations and comparisons towards materials strength structure. The Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) strength and Microhardness (MH) were significantly increased by increasing the processed temperature and reinforced particles because of the material dispersion strengthening. The high melting point of particles caused impedance movements of aluminium ceramics dislocations which need higher plastic deformation force and hence increased the material's mechanical and physical properties. But, beyond Al/10 % B4C + 10 % ZrO2 the strength and hardness were decreased due to more particle agglomeration distribution. The optimisation tools of both RSM and ML show high agreement between the reported results of applied parameters towards the materials' strength characterisation. The microstructure analysis of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) provides insights mapping behavioural characterisation supports related to strength and hardness properties. The distribution of different volumes of ceramic particle proportion was highlighted. The environmental impacts were also analysed by employing a life cycle assessment (LCA) to identify energy savings because of its fewer processing steps and produce excellent hybrid materials properties.

We consider in this paper a reverse supply chain with three stocks. Newly manufactured items are stored in the first stock. The second stock is reserved for remanufactured items, while the third stock contains the items that are returned from the market. One of our main assumptions is that remanufactured items are not as-good-as-new. We also assume that new and remanufactured items are subject to deterioration and to dynamic demands, that customer return rate is also dynamic, and that the firm adopts a continuous-review policy. Using optimal control theory, we obtain the explicit expressions of the optimal manufacturing rate, remanufacturing rate, disposal rate, and inventory levels in all three stocks. Numerical examples and sensitivity analyses illustrate the results obtained.
