Katerina Mazi, Hydrogeologist, is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development (IERSD) of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). She holds a PhD from Stockholm University (2014). Her research in the fields of hydrology and water resources focuses on sustainable management of Mediterranean coastal aquifers under climate change and increased human forcing and includes applied hydrology and hydrometry, and hydrogeological modelling. She has co-authored 20 peer-reviewed journal papers, in addition to conference presentations/posters and numerous project reports. She is also reviewer in several scientific journals. Currently, she is the NOA/IERSD-PI of the project HydroNet: Hydro-Telemetric Networks of Surface Waters: Gauging instruments, smart technologies, installation and operation (2018-2021) National Strategic Reference Framework and has participated in numerous research projects, e.g., WASSER (1998-2001) DG Research, TELEFLEUR (1998-2000) DG ICT, FLASH (2006-2010) DG Research and DEUCALION (2011-2014).
