He holds a Ph.D. in Advanced Technology, a Master's degree in Advanced Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Level 2 member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of CONAHCYT in México.He has published numerous JCR-indexed, peer-reviewed, and outreach articles and has supervised undergraduate, master's, and doctoral theses. His research focuses on the analysis and synthesis of new materials, specifically applying thermochemical and mechanical treatments for surface enhancement of biomaterials and machine components. He is currently a full-time professor and coordinator of the Master degree Biociences program at the University of Guanajuato.
