Received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (production and control of medicines) from UFPE. He was a professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Federal University of Amazonas, UFAM, where he was Vice Coordinator of the PPGCF UFAM. Member of the Thematic Technical Committee on Excipients and Adjuvants (CTT EXA) for 10 years and is currently a member of the CTT of Pharmaceutical Ingredients of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia. He is currently a Professor of the Pharmacy course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, UFRN, where he was Vice Coordinator of the Pharmacy course and is currently a permanent professor of the Graduate Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, PPGCF UFRN, in Science, Technology and Innovation, PPGCTI, and Drug Technological Innovation and Development, PPGDITM. Founder and Coordinator of the INOFARM UFRN research group, he works in the Pharmaceutical Technology and Innovation area, with the development of pharmaceutical and cosmetic forms, drug delivery systems, cyclodextrins and several polymeric systems, with synthetic drugs and natural products. He has more than 45 articles published in several international journals, 2 published book chapters, 14 registered patents, 1 Patent Letter, and 4 registered trademarks at INPI. He received the Pharmaceutical Innovation Award from the National Academy of Pharmacy. He has ongoing international partnerships with the Universitá degli Studi di Parma, Genova, and Firenze (Italy) universities.
