Nowadays, mobile banking apps are becoming an integral part of people lives due to its suppleness and convenience. Despite these benefits, yet its growth in evolving states is beyond expectations. However, using mobiles devices to conduct financial transactions involved a lot of risk. This paper aims to investigate customers’ reasons for non-usage of the new conduits in developing countries with distinct interest in Nigeria. The study adopts two methods of analysis, artificial intelligence-based methods (AI), and structural equations modeling (SEM). A feed-forward neural network (FFNN) sensitivity examination technique was used to choose the most dominant parameters of mobile banking data collected from 823 respondents. Four algebraic directories were used to corroborate the study AI-based model. The study AI results found risk, trust, facilitating conditions, and inadequate digital laws to be the most dominant parameters that affect mobile banking growth in Nigeria, and discovered social influence and service quality to have no influence on Nigerians’ resolve to use moveable banking apps. Moreover, the results proved the superiority of AI-based models above the classical models. Government and pecuniary institutes can use the study outcomes to ensure secured services offering, and improve growth. Finally, the study suggests some areas for future studies.

Research has shown that effective and efficient learning management systems (LMS) were the main reasons for sustainable education in developed nations during COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to slow take-up of LMS many schools in developing countries, especially Africa were completely shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic. To fill this gap, 4 AI-based models; Support Vector Machine (SVM), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Boosted Regression Tree (BRT) were developed for prediction of LMS determinants. Nonlinear sensitivity analysis was employed to select the key parameters of the LMS determinants data obtained from 1244 schools’ students. Five statistical indices were used to validate the models. The performance results of the four developed AI models discovered facilitating conditions, attitude towards LMS, perceived enjoyment, users’ satisfaction, perceived usefulness, and ease of use to be the most significant factors that affect educational sustainability in Nigeria during COVID-19. Further, single model’s performance results comparison proved that SVM has the highest prediction ability compared to GPR, ANN, and BRT due to its robustness in handling data uncertainties. The study results identified the factors responsible for total schools’ closure during COVID-19. Future studies should examine the application of other linear and other nonlinear AI techniques.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is associated with significant social, communication, and behavioral challenges. The insufficient number of trained clinicians coupled with limited accessibility to quick and accurate diagnostic tools resulted in overlooking early symptoms of ASD in children around the world. Several studies have utilized behavioral data in developing and evaluating the performance of machine learning (ML) models toward quick and intelligent ASD assessment systems. However, despite the good evaluation metrics achieved by the ML models, there is not enough evidence on the readiness of the models for clinical use. Specifically, none of the existing studies reported the real-life application of the ML-based models. This might be related to numerous challenges associated with the data-centric techniques utilized and their misalignment with the conceptual basis upon which professionals diagnose ASD. The present work systematically reviewed recent articles on the application of ML in the behavioral assessment of ASD, and highlighted common challenges in the studies, and proposed vital considerations for real-life implementation of ML-based ASD screening and diagnostic systems. This review will serve as a guide for researchers, neuropsychiatrists, psychologists, and relevant stakeholders on the advances in ASD screening and diagnosis using ML.

The process of developing education is a vital and important issue around the world as it is an issue that is inherited through time, and it is one of the most important challenges facing the world. Distance education is one of the means of developing education through which knowledge can be spread and which can help people to overcome obstacles of time and space. Recently, teaching and learning systems have become completely dependent on e-learning, especially during the corona virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic since the world has turned to electronic transactions in all areas, especially in education, and the most used technology includes the use of online training courses such as massive open online courses (MOOCs). It provides great support to the distance learning process as it can facilitate the learning process by diversifying its contents via media, such as text and video. In addition, MOOCs are the most popular and effective online courses. The aim of this paper is to provide an in-depth analysis of the definition, characteristics and patterns of MOOCs. Also, this paper discusses the specific advantages and disadvantages of taking up MOOCs along with the different challenges that MOOCs are facing. In addition, various suggestions will be given to make improvements that can help in making process enhancements to MOOCs. Finally, this paper presents the importance of MOOCs in the COVID-19 era. We hope this paper will help instructors to understand how MOOCs can be made more efficient, enable learners to become more organised and increase their understanding of MOOCs, and will help education development system specialists to find suitable solutions for problems that MOOCs are facing. The advance of pervasive technologies such as mobile technologies and various mobile devices has brought opportunities for educators to design and perform interactive learning activities and has also enabled educationalists to access the virtual learning environment anytime and anywhere without restrictions of time or place and without too much additional effort. The m-learning system, MobLrN, has been developed by the researcher. Different from the m-learning systems developed by other researchers, the MobLrN m-learning system contains all teaching/learning components for m-learning, such as access control, user profile, learning materials, assignments, self-tests, quizzes, performance measurement, announcements, and report generation. Thus, instead of using different systems for different activities, the instructors can use the developed mobile system for all of their teaching activities. The main porpuse of the study was to identify whether the developed m-learning system is acceptable or not as a mobile learning environment. Data were collected through a questionnaire. Descriptive statistical analysis technique and the percentage method were used. The obtained results confirm that the MobLrN m-learning system was deemed to be useful for instructors and students for the future. The system is oriented to anyone who may have an interest in mobile technologies, and all higher education institutes. This Educational toys are important in early child development and motivate children to learn language. Numerous digital toys are now available in the children’s educational toys market to help children learn foreign languages. However, a number of such technologies are expensive and the quality of usability is not at an acceptable level. The aim of the study is to develop a cost-effective, sustainable and danger-free educational toy for pre-kindergarten children aged between 4-5 years old to teach English as a second language in developing countries. This toy has been developed with Raspberry Pi and makes use of the RFID technology. The experiment in this research was conducted with 20 pre-kindergarten children for four weeks under the supervision of 14 teachers, using five games of the developed toy testing the pre-kindergarten children’s learning of alphabet, words, colors, shapes, and numbers. A design-based research model with an innovation design method utilized during the development stage of the toy. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to evaluate the developed toy. The results of the experiment showed that the developed toy is user-friendly, and the pre-kindergarten children were enthusiastic about playing with it and learning was enjoyable. Also, the results showed that the developed toy can be suitable for use as an educational toy for pre-kindergarten children to teach English as a second language. The educational toy developed by the researchers will be beneficial for those who wish to teach English to pre-kindergarten children such as administrators, teachers and parents in developing countries.

Since we are living in the information era, it is highly important that people can reach the desired knowledge whenever required. Mobile devices have become in-dispensable in the everyday lives of humans. The recent developments in the field of technology have affected all sectors as well as the education sector, and have thus increased the importance of mobile learning. However, in order to gain the maximum benefit from mobile learning, it is important to know the specifications of the mobile devices used by the students so that the teaching materials can be prepared accordingly. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the factors that affect students’ choices when they are making the decision to purchase a mobile phone. Differences are observed between countries, as there are differences be-tween students. In this context, when the literature is studied, it is seen that insufficient research has been conducted in many countries, particularly in Northern Cyprus. This study focuses on investigating the factors affecting university students’ mobile phone purchasing behaviors in North Cyprus. Data was collected from 472 voluntary students by using a survey research model. The factors affecting students’ mobile phone purchasing behaviors, such as brand image, price, product/application features, and peer group influence were considered in this study. Consequently, four hypotheses were proposed and only one of these hypotheses was not supported. In other words, brand image, product/application features, and peer group influence were found to be effective factors in students’ choice, while the price seemed not to be an important factor. The most important result of the study was that the smartphones occupy a very important place in students’ everyday lives and they were not affected by price considerations. Therefore, it is thought that these high demands of students for smartphones will be very advantageous in the transition of educational institutions to mobile learning, particularly from the perspective of teachers. It can be said that students’ familiarity with using mobile technologies will affect their motivation positively and this may also positively affect their academic success rates in mobile learning. Therefore, it is hoped that the results obtained in this study will guide teachers in developing countries to prepare their course materials and consequently revise their curriculum in the context of mobile learning.

Social network sites (SNSs) have become so popular that the number of people joining and actively participating on such sites is increasing on a daily basis. Although there are several SNSs, Facebook is currently the most popular and most commonly used. SNSs have primarily been developed with able-bodied people in mind and as a result of this, people with disabilities find it difficult to join and participate on these sites. Furthermore, this topic has received little attention by researchers around the world. Facebook pages usually consist of text, graphics, and sound where the users navigate through the pages using a mouse. As a step towards addressing this need and finding a possible elegant solution, the authors have developed a voice-activated PC-based system (called NEU-FACE) in the form of an interface to Facebook. With the aid of this system, a person with a physical disability can join and participate in Facebook by giving voice commands to manage the typical Facebook activities.

With the latest research in the fields of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences, an increasing number of drugs are being invented to cure many fatal diseases and this has enabled people to live healthier and longer. Consequently, the rate of medication usage is increasing, particularly among the elderly. It is important that the medication prescribed by doctors is taken at the correct times of the day and in the correct dosages. This seems to be a significant problem encountered by older people with disabilities. As a result of forgetfulness or other problems, many older patients either do not take the correct medicines or the correct dosage at the appropriate times and this reduces the benefits of treatments and increases both healthcare costs and the mortality rates. In order to find a solution to this problem, a mobile phone and Cloud-based smart application has been developed to improve patient adherence, particularly for older people with disabilities. The novelty of the developed application is the use of a Cloud service to provide two-way communication in the form of feedback between the older patients with disabilities and the doctors so that the medication adherence of the patients can be monitored. Mobile application developers should find the developed mobile phone based medication reminder application for older people with disabilities a useful example application, and it should help them in developing other mobile applications for older people with disabilities.
