Dr. Willy Sher entered academic life in the early 1980s as a part-time lecturer and took up a full-time lectureship in 1988. He completed post-graduate studies at Loughborough University, UK and the University of Newcastle, Australia. He has taught at the University of the Witwatersrand, Loughborough University, and Newcastle University. He has published widely and secured research funding (in the UK and Australia) of over $1m in a range of areas. His recent research interests focus on sustainability issues. Willy retired at the start of 2023.
