Giovanni Belletti is a Professor of Agricultural and Agrifood Economics in the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Firenze. He obtained a Ph.D in agricultural economics and policy in 1993 (S. Anna University, Pisa). His main research interests are the economics and organisation of agriculture and agro-food systems, farmers’ collective action in agriculture and value chains, alternative food networks and short supply chains, quality issues in agro-food systems with a specific focus on product origins and geographical indications, rural dynamics and rural development policies, rural tourism, and agritourism. Since 1990 he has been involved in and coordinated many national and international research projects. He is the author of more than 120 scientific publications.
