With the current advancement in the Internet, there has been a growing demand for building intelligent and smart systems that can efficiently address the detection of health-related problems on social media, such as the detection of depression and anxiety. These types of systems, which are mainly dependent on machine learning techniques, must be able to deal with obtaining the semantic and syntactic meaning of texts posted by users on social media. The data generated by users on social media contains unstructured and unpredictable content. Several systems based on machine learning and social media platforms have recently been introduced to identify health-related problems. However, the text representation and deep learning techniques employed provide only limited information and knowledge about the different texts posted by users. This is owing to a lack of long-term dependencies between each word in the entire text and a lack of proper exploitation of recent deep learning schemes. In this paper, we propose a novel framework to efficiently and effectively identify depression and anxiety-related posts while maintaining the contextual and semantic meaning of the words used in the whole corpus when applying bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT). In addition, we propose a knowledge distillation technique, which is a recent technique for transferring knowledge from a large pretrained model (BERT) to a smaller model to boost performance and accuracy. We also devised our own data collection framework from Reddit and Twitter, which are the most common social media sites. Finally, we employed word2vec and BERT with Bi-LSTM to effectively analyze and detect depression and anxiety signs from social media posts. Our system surpasses other state-of-the-art methods and achieves an accuracy of 98% using the knowledge distillation technique.

Accurate detection and diagnosis of brain tumors at early stages is significant for effective treatment. While numerous methods have been developed for tumor detection and classification, several rely on traditional techniques, often resulting in suboptimal performance. In contrast, AI-based deep learning techniques have shown promising results, consistently achieving high accuracy across various tumor types while maintaining model interpretability. Inspired by these advancements, this paper introduces an improved variant of EfficientNet for multi-grade brain tumor detection and classification, addressing the gap between performance and explainability. Our approach extends the capabilities of EfficientNet to classify four tumor types: glioma, meningioma, pituitary tumor, and non-tumor. For enhanced explainability, we incorporate gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) to improve model interpretability. The input MRI images undergo data augmentation before being passed through the feature extraction phase, where the underlying tumor patterns are learned. Our model achieves an average accuracy of 98.6%, surpassing other state-of-the-art methods on standard datasets while maintaining a substantially reduced parameter count. Furthermore, the explainable AI (XAI) analysis demonstrates the model’s ability to focus on relevant tumor regions, enhancing its interpretability. This accurate and interpretable model for brain tumor classification has the potential to significantly aid clinical decision-making in neuro-oncology.

In this paper, a hybrid scheme of Dynamic wireless charging (DWC) for electric vehicles EV(s) is proposed to resolve this issue in a network topological infrastructure. The proposed hybrid scheme uses different parameters to allow DWC in EVs. The network infrastructure was established through an enhanced destination sequential distance vector (Enhanced-DSDV) protocol for participating EVs. The DWC charge between paired EV(s) was enabled by magnetic coupling, where the Charge State Estimator (CSE) was used as an unsupervised machine learning technique to learn the current charging status of each EV. Similarly, the captured data of CSE is shared via embedded wireless nodes in the network following enhanced-DSDV routing protocol. Moreover, the proposed model enables each participating EV to transfer charge to another EV participating in the network in DWC environment. To allow, the drivers to monitor the participating EVs in close proximity with their current charge status, location, and distance information, we have have used a dashboard screen in each EV. In addition, each EV uses a generator to produce a magnetic field for magnetic coupling between paired EV(s) to exchange power in wireless environment. The feasibility of the proposed model was thoroughly examined in the real environment of DWC. The results show that the proposed scheme is reliable in terms of DWC in both static and dynamic. Moreover, the enhanced-DSDV routing protocol performed significantly well than existing schemes particularly in terms of throughput, packet lost ratio and latency.

Human face image analysis is an active research area within computer vision. In this paper we propose a framework for face image analysis, addressing three challenging problems of race, age, and gender recognition through face parsing. We manually labeled face images for training an end-to-end face parsing model through Deep Convolutional Neural Networks. The deep learning-based segmentation model parses a face image into seven dense classes. We use the probabilistic classification method and created probability maps for each face class. The probability maps are used as feature descriptors. We trained another Convolutional Neural Network model by extracting features from probability maps of the corresponding class for each demographic task (race, age, and gender). We perform extensive experiments on state-of-the-art datasets and obtained much better results as compared to previous results.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common and serious neurological diseases. Impairments in voice have been reported to be the early biomarkers of the disease. Hence, development of PD diagnostic tool will help early diagnosis of the disease. Additionally, intelligent system developed for binary classification of PD and healthy controls can also be exploited in future as an instrument for prodromal diagnosis. Notably, patients with rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) represent a good model as they develop PD with a high probability. It has been shown that slight speech and voice impairment may be a sensitive marker of preclinical PD. In this study, we propose PD detection by extracting cepstral features from the voice signals collected from people with PD and healthy subjects. To classify the extracted features, we propose to use dimensionality reduction through linear discriminant analysis and classification through support vector machine. In order to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we also developed ten different machine learning models. It was observed that the proposed method yield area under the curve (AUC) of 88%, sensitivity of 73.33%, and specificity of 84%. Moreover, the proposed intelligent system was simulated using publicly available multiple types of voice database. Additionally, the data were collected from patients under on-state. The obtained results on the public database are promising compared to the previously published work.
