In this article was determined the influence of alloying elements on changes in the structure and properties of the selected grade of fine grained steel. The main objective of research that was carried out, was to provide independent results to the company which uses Hardox 400 and 450 steel in the construction of semi-trailers. To this end, researches of selected mechanical properties and fatigue tests were carried out. For this purpose, samples were prepared for fatigue research on the device Rotoflex for Hardox 400 and 450 and as reference samples for S355J2 steel, which is also used in the construction of semi-trailers by Wielton S.A.

The article presents the results of analysis, the use of continuous flow of logic at the stage of production planning and control of the company producing furniture. The concept of continuous flow tends to regulate the flow of materials in a manner that provides the shortest flow path without unnecessary activities (Muda is a Japanese word meaning waste), a constant takt and defined throughput at constant resource requirements for the so-called transfer of material through the whole process. In the study Glenday’d sieve method was used to identify the correct area, which requires the value stream mapping, and areas called excessive complexity, which do not provide added value. The use of Glenday’s sieve method made it possible to identify areas in which it must be improve production capacity

The article describes a research study focused on determining the level of social support for innovative activities. Based on a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews conducted among engineers working in the United States and in Poland, data was obtained to determine the level of social acceptance and the level of support from third parties and institutions encouraging innovative activities. Conducting a comparative analysis of innovation support in the United States and Poland made it possible to learn about the social climate strengthening and inhibiting innovative behavior in both countries. An important element in the aspect of social acceptance is the perception of innovation from the perspective of corporate social responsibility, responsibility of business leaders and engineers as well as sustainable development.

The article deals with the use of the 5S methodology in an organization. It focuses on the implementation of 5S in an organization involved in the production and processing of metal components for the automotive industry. 5S is a Japanese methodology that was first applied in the automotive industry to improve productivity. The article is dedicated to the basic principles of lean manufacturing. The practical part analyses the state of the workplaces before the introduction of 5S and the actual implementation of this methodology. The implementation of 5S brings a number of benefits to the organization, including: - reducing time wasted searching for tools, - improving safety, - boosting employee morale, - building the culture of the organization. Keeping the workspace organized with visual aids helps to increase productivity and reduce waste. The ultimate goal of 5S is continuous improvement in the workplace. The final section evaluates the benefits to the organization after the implementation of 5S. By implementing this strategy, the workplace becomes clean and standardized, allowing employees to work as efficiently as possible. The 5S method creates a more efficient work environment by improving the organization and optimizing the system of operation.
