This study is based on the general notion that restaurants should find more responsible solutions to dispose of the large amount of food that is not consumed. Moreover, the food wasted has great environmental, social and financial impacts, and yet this issue is still insufficiently presented in contemporary studies on food waste management. This paper applied the extended theory of planned behavior as a theoretical framework to elicit consumers’ behavior concerning food waste. A standard paper and pen survey recorded quantitative data provided by 221 respondents. The findings reported the following: (1) personal attitudes toward food waste positively affect an individual’s intention not to waste food; (2) perceived behavioral control positively affects an individual’s intention not to waste food; (3) the intention not to waste food negatively affects self-reported food waste behavior; (4) negative environmental attitudes negatively affect intention not to waste food; (5) hygiene-based food waste negatively affects perceived behavioral control. This study contributes to understanding consumers’ food waste behavior in restaurants and might have practical implications in the hospitality sector.

Beer may not be the oldest alcoholic beverage, but it is definitely among the most popular alcoholic beverages in Serbia today. The authors conducted a survey in 2019, during three major beer festivals, on a total sample of 542 festival visitors. The authors set the goal of the research: sensory preferences, habits, knowledge of the beer production process and a healthy lifestyle influence the choice of beer type, in respondents older than 18 years. Further, the goal was to investigate the extent to which craft tourism can be developed in Serbia, and to be an aid in sustainable tourism development. SPSS software, version 26.00, was used for data processing. Descriptive statistical analysis determined the average values for all items from the given research groups. The authors considered that, for determining the group of factors, which may have the strongest predictor power in predicting beer choice, the best results can be given by Binary Logistic Regression. The logarithm of chances, chances and probabilities has also been determined whether in some future period all festival visitors over the age of 18 will be chosen for craft beer instead of factory beer. The obtained results show that visitors mainly consume craft beer, and that sensory tendencies play a leading role in preserving and creating quality, as well as attracting regular consumers and visitors to craft tourism. The importance of the research is undoubtedly seen in resolving the existing doubts about the quality of beer and creating a craft tourist market in Serbia. In addition, the research can improve the measures around the creation of a recognizable identity of the Serbian beer festival, on the wider tourist market.

Employee satisfaction is the main factor achieving high work performance, providing quality services in the tourism sector, which directly affects the increase in productivity and commitment to the organization. The research is focused on determining the factors of job satisfaction and commitment to the institution by the female workforce. The authors conducted a survey in tourism companies in Novi Sad (the second-largest city in Serbia), based on a sample of 610 women in total, using a standardized MSQ questionnaire for job satisfaction, and Meyer and Allen’s organizational commitment scale. Three multiple regression analyses were used to determine the relationship between job satisfaction factors and organizational commitment factors. The results confirm the existence and strength of correlation between satisfaction factors and types of organizational commitment, and the fact that the position of women in the tourism sector is not at an enviable level, and that they remain in the same organization because of the small number of alternatives and moral obligations.

Management of the competitiveness of the regional forestry sector is defined by social, economic, environmental, institutional and other factors as an impact on the regional forestry sector and its actors in order to create and strengthen competitive advantages in the domestic and foreign markets, to maintain the integrity and sustainable development of the sector, reflected in the indicators that characterise the state of competitiveness. The availability and condition of forest capital is studied on a time-discounting basis, taking into account factors such as forest maturity and logging turnover. Based on the strategic level of forest capital competitiveness, the degree of implementation of the forest capital competitiveness strategy is determined in two ways: a) forest capital competitiveness based on traditional technologies; b) forest capital competitiveness based on innovations. To assess the competitiveness of forest capital, it is proposed to use the indicator "Estimated incremental value of forestry capital". In the authors' opinion, the calculation of this indicator should be defined as the ratio of financial flow in the form of the sum of net profit and depreciation to the value of assets. The proposed author's approach makes it possible to estimate innovation resources, the application of which will make it possible to identify priority areas of innovative growth of the timber industry complex and select priority areas of its innovative development.

Aim. The aim is to assess the sustainability of the social and economic development of the municipalities in the Voronezh Region. Material and Methods. A systematic approach to an integrated, structured and dynamic study of the level of social and economic sustainability of municipalities in the region. This approach uses the classification method, which defines and restricts existing conceptual approaches to the interpretation of conflict as an economic category, and the comparative analysis method, which compares the selected approaches with each other. The statistical database covers the period from 2014 to 2018. The integral index of social and economic sustainability of the municipalities in the region has been calculated. Discussion. The results of calculations of the integral sustainability index allowed us to identify 5 groups of municipalities, characterized by a certain degree of social and economic sustainability: a group with a high level of socio‐economic sustainability, a group with an above‐average level of socio‐economic sustainability, a group with an average level of socio‐economic sustainability, a group with a low level of socio‐economic sustainability and a group with a crisis level of socio‐economic sustainability. A crisis situation in a number of municipalities necessitates the development of certain anti‐crisis recommendations that contribute to the effective use of existing potential and directly develop the internal resources of the municipalities. Conclusion. The work resolves an actual practice‐oriented issue in the field of socio‐economic and geographical research ‐ the calculation of the sustainability of the social and economic development of municipalities in the region. Assessment of the sustainability indicators of the regional municipalities made it possible to comprehensively and adequately reveal the "strengths and weaknesses" of the regional social and economic system of the Voronezh Region and to identify the principal strategic tasks in moving towards a single strategic aim – improving the population level and life quality.

One of the problems that have arisen in the past and have an inertial impact on the development of the Russian Federation is the problem of heterogeneity of the country’s socio-economic space. The large scale of the space of Russia predetermines the predominantly macroscopic nature of the regulatory impact, the object of which is large territorial formations: economic districts, federal districts, regions of the Russian Federation. Each separate region, each municipality is a complex system with a set of unique factors: geographic location, climatic conditions, resource potential, population, etc. The article presents the author’s methodology for assessing the differentiation of social and economic development of municipalities in the Voronezh region. In modern conditions, the formation of convenient and effective methods and tools for measuring sustainable social and economic development, which make it possible to give an unambiguous interpretation of the results, is of high value both from a research and management point of view. On the basis of the author’s methodology, an assessment of the differentiation of the social and economic development of municipalities in the Voronezh region has been carried out. The proposed method, having individual characteristics in limiting the number of basic indicators along with the existing approaches, contributes to obtaining more objective results and allows it to be used in the development of a regional social and economic Strategy. These indicators are among the most important areas of the region’s social and economic system.

Aim. The development of an innovation profile model as a means of assessing the innovative sustainability of the region (Voronezh region, Russia).Material and Methods. The study employed system, comparative and economicstatistical methods. Calculations were conducted using MS Excel and Statistica soft‐ ware packages. The database was created in retrospect for the period 2010‐2017. Assessment of innovation sustainability based on the resource approach was undertaken using four groups of resource indicators that characterize the state of technological, human resources, financial and scientific sectors. The effective component was calculated.Results. The results of calculations of the generalizing indicator indicate a sufficiently developed regional innovation system, which has not only the potential for implementing effective innovative sustainable activities but has already achieved effective results. However, there are crisis indicator values such as the share of internal expenditures on researches and development, the index of physical volume of investments in fixed capital and the share of researchers with a degree. In turn, the effective component’s criticality requires the development of certain recommendations that contribute to the effective use of existing potential.Conclusion. A solution to an actual practice‐oriented issue in the field of socioeconomic and geographical research is presented: a developed innovation profile model which makes it possible to determine the degree of innovation sustainability of the region quickly and reliably. Assessment of the indicators of innovative potential of this region made it possible to identify the ‘strengths and weaknesses’ of the innovation system of the Voronezh region comprehensively and adequately and to determine the principal future strategic objectives.

Aim. To reveal the features of the process of academic mobility as a factor in the sustainability of the higher education system (in the example of the Republic of Kazakhstan). Discussion. The organisation of student academic mobility is determined by the students striving to move for the purpose of academic exchange in the educational space and social adaptation in the framework of this process. The modeling of the organisation of academic mobility of students in higher education is a specific cognitive method in which the object of study is imitated in a model. A model of the academic mobility of students is presented in this article together with an exposition of its structural components and functionality. Conclusion. In the current situation in Kazakhstan outgoing academic mobility is of the greatest priority and acts as a mechanism to develop the intellectual potential and skills of the population. Incoming student mobility in Kazakhstan occupies a less significant position because of the weak material and technical base of Kazakhstan universities, underdeveloped services and infrastructure, limited abilities to provide education in English and visa restrictions. All this negatively affects the competitiveness of the Kazakhstan higher education system. In considering the indicators of international student exchange in the states of the Customs Union of the Eurasian Economic Union, it should be noted that outgoing mobility in Kazakhstan is more than two times higher than incoming, which impacts on the competitiveness of Kazakhstan universities in international mobility ratings. Effective organisation of the academic mobility of students in Kazakhstan will contribute to an increase in the influx of foreign students to its universities. It will also contribute to the formation of competitive specialists and their participation in the development of an advanced society and a knowledge‐based economy in the context of globalization, internationalisation and sustainable development.

The article analyses the methodological issues of the socio-ecological and economic justification for the multidimensional indicator of the quality of life of the population - the welfare index of the population. Particular attention is paid to the scientific substantiation and quantitative assessment of this index, calculated for the subjects of the Central Federal District and differing in the parameters of both socio-economic and environmental development. The proposed methodology for calculating the integral indicator of the well-being of the population will allow to assess the level of socio-economic and ecological well-being of the population living in the territory of Voronezh region, taking into account the influence of institutional factors. The index of the well-being of the population reflects such indicators as the level of social and economic development, incomes of the population, the cost of living, the quality of medical care, education, the state of the environment, security, cultural level, the level of development of small and medium-sized businesses, etc. By this method, we have obtained integral indices for 18 regions of the Central Federal District for a 5-year period (from 2012 to 2016), which allow to reveal general information about the social and ecological well-being of the studied region for a certain period. The obtained generalizing indicators can be used to assess the effectiveness of the administration of municipal entities in the field of socioeconomic and environmental policy.

Aim.The aim is geoecological diagnostics of regions of the Central Black Soil Region on the basis of which the areas with different degree of tension of a technogenic and medicoecological situation have been revealed. Material and methods of research. System, comparative-geographical, geoinformation, historical, statistical methods of research, as well as software packages MS Excel and Statistica have been used. The database has been formed in retrospect for the period 2006-2015. About 50 public health criteria and about 200 potential risk factors have been analyzed. 9 key (indicator) criteria have been selected.Results.The authors propose an algorithm to perform geoecological diagnostics of the large region. The correlations between integral estimation criteria of levels of technogenic loadings and parameters of public health have been calculated. The positive correlations of weak and medium degree indicate the presence of stable trends: the increase in the levels of technogenic loads on the environment of the regions is an unfavorable "response" on the part of the population (the growth of environmentally caused pathology and, first of all, malignant neoplasms, as well as congenital anomalies in children). It is established that among the regions of the Central Black Soil Region this pattern is more pronounced for the area of the Belgorod region, where the environmental situation is much more contrasting, and the level of technogenic impact in the urban agglomeration zone is higher than, for example, in the Voronezh region.Conclusion.In this scientific paper, the authors have solved the actual practice-oriented problem in the field of geoecological researches, namely, they have developed the method of geoecodiagnostics of a large region, which allows to quickly and reliably determine the degree of technogenic load on the area. The analysis of the obtained data allowed us to reveal the regularities of the formation of the geoecological situation in the area of the Central Black Soil Region, to formulate the main directions of environmental policy and to predict the dynamics of the geoecological situation development.

Background/Objectives: The article aims to review existing approaches and give the author's interpretation of the category "regional socio-economic and geographic system." Methods/Statistical analysis: The methods of system and comparative analysis, synthesis methods were the main methods of research. The works on improving territorial and industrial structure, economic regionalization, the doctrine of territorial-production complexes, the energy-cycles and territorial socio-economic systems were the methodological basis of the research. Findings: The author's approach to the definition of the category "regional socio-economic and geographic system" has been revealed. Region is considered to be a complex spatially integral united system, which is represented by a local territorial complex of interconnected social and economic subsystems, determined by the definite production structure, peculiarities of the social infrastructure and human resources, taking into consideration place and role of the particular region in social and economic complex of the country. The emphasis is put by the author on topological approach towards definition of the concept "regional social, economic and geographical system". The model of regional social, economic and geographical system actual for each entity of the federal state is developed, taking into consideration peculiarities and characteristics of the subjects. Region has constitutionally fixed competence and authority. Levels of the social, economic and geographical system coincides with the existing in Russia state structure, due to its role of the forming base of all territorial social and economic systems. Application/Improvements: The research materials can be used to study the traditional and emerging trends, patterns, factors and conditions of the functioning and development of regional socio-economic systems.

The prospect of tourism development in rural areas is connected with use of various approaches and models of the organization of agrotourism taking into account an environment and cultural and historical heritage of each region at steady observance of requirements of environmental protection, the quality standards and safety of tourists on vacation. Problems and perspectives of agrotourism development are caused by tendencies and changes in agriculture, problems of social and economic development of rural territories as in general in Russia, and in the Ivanovo region, directly. In this regard the Ivanovo region is the most interesting object for studying in Central Federal District because by the level of social and economic development it is the most crisis, depressive territory and takes the last place in relation to all regions of the district. In the territory of the district is represented a very wide range of attractive tourist recreational facilities and complexes which are popular both among Russian and foreign tourists. Experience of many European countries proves that in many Russian regions including the Ivanovo region possessing considerable ecological, recreational, social and cultural potential, development of agrotourism in rural areas can be the most effective instrument of their social and economic development. In recent years the Ivanovo region shows dynamic development of tourism, and offers unique tourist products. The biggest part of tourist resources of the region is located in rural areas. In article the characteristic of conditions for development of agrotourism in the region is given. Prospects of development of this type of tourism on the example of guesthouses are shown.
