Dr. Muccillo is a researcher in molecular biology at the Department of Sciences and Technologies, University of Sannio. He earned his master's degree in 2005 with a thesis entitled “Genetic analysis of some shrimp populations native”. He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Sannio in 2015 in bioinformatics, with a thesis entitled “SSRs and statistical analyses: molecular tools for food traceability”. His skills are in high-throughput sequencing for evaluating epigenetic and transcriptomic variations and the related bioinformatic analyses. He also has expertise in flow cytometry. His scientific topics concern the research of new antigens and/or biomarkers and their targetability using natural compounds and their biological effects on cancer prevention or for adjuvant therapies and in DNA methylation during epithelial–mesenchymal transition in colon and breast cancer patients.
