The current research on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) has shifted to focus on providing secure and reliable services, rather than high-precision positioning services. Deception jamming has emerged as a major threat to GNSS security applications due to its advantages such as concealment. For security signals not publicly available in the spread spectrum code sequence, simple deception methods do not suffice to implement effective deception. In response, the security code estimation and replay (SCER) attack was proposed. However, the impact of the spread spectrum code estimation error on the receiver and SCER attack effect is still unclear. This paper is based on the SCER attack and deception signal receiving model, constructs a receiver tracking loop analysis model and carrier to noise ratio (CNR) estimation model based on spread spectrum code error, and analyzes the impact of spread spectrum code error on the receiver tracking loop and CNR. Based on the experimental results and discussion, some conclusions have been drawn. Firstly, spread spectrum code error will cause correlation peak distortion and a decrease in CNR. Secondly, to achieve effective deception, the spread spectrum code error cannot be increased indefinitely and an upper bound exists, which ranges from about 41%, depending on the deceived receiver acquisition strategy. Thirdly, when the spread spectrum code error rate is less than the upper bound, the mean square error of the code phase measurement is less than 0.02 chip, which is on the same order of magnitude as caused by thermal noise. As such, it can be approximately assumed that the code tracking deviation caused by spread spectrum code error has minimal impact on the SCER attack. Although reducing the receiving terminal gain of the SCER attack will lead to an increase in the spread spectrum code estimation error, it is possible to increase the transmitting terminal gain of the SCER attack to maintain the same CNR of the deception signal and deception effect, greatly reducing the cost of the deception.

Although antenna arrays can effectively suppress interference and maintain the navigation signal integrity, interference suppression performance is limited by channel mismatch. However, a space-time adaptive processor (STAP) can reduce channel mismatch by introducing time taps within each element, which will further suppress the interference and improve the performance. However, interference suppression depends significantly on the number of time taps. This paper presents a proportion differentiation (PD) algorithm for the adaptive control of time taps based on the antenna arrays output power is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulations and measured data. The STAP with adaptive time taps has achieved excellent performance for interference suppression performance without increasing the computational load.

Interference multipath is an important factor to affect the anti-jamming performance for the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antenna array receiver. However, interference multipath must be considered in practical application. In this paper, the antenna array model for interference multipath is analyzed, and an equivalent model for interference multipath is proposed. According to the equivalent interference multipath model, the influence of interference multipath on anti-jamming performance is analyzed from the space only processing (SOP) and space-time adaptive processing (STAP). Interference multipath can cause loss of the degree of freedom (DoF) of SOP. Through analysis of the equivalent model and STAP mechanism, it further reveals how the STAP can solve the interference multipath. The simulation experiments prove that the equivalent model is effective, and the analysis conclusion is correct. This paper also points out that the interference bandwidth is wider and more taps in STAP are required, under the same experiment conditions.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been applied to all aspects of social livelihood and military applications and has become an important part of national infrastructure construction. However, due to the vulnerability of GNSS, satellite navigation jamming technology can pose a serious threat to GNSS security applications, and this has become a research hotspot in the field of navigation countermeasures. In this paper, satellite navigation jamming technologies are divided into suppression jamming and deception jamming, and the research status of satellite navigation suppression jamming and deception jamming technologies are sorted by three aspects: jamming technology classification, jamming efficiency evaluation, and jamming source deployment. Finally, the future development trend of satellite navigation jamming technology is summarized.

With the increasing economic and strategic significance of the global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), interference events also occur frequently. Interference monitoring technologies aim to monitor the interference that may affect the regular operation of the GNSS. Interference monitoring technologies can be divided into three parts: interference detection and recognition, interference source direction finding, and interference source location and tracking. Interference detection aims to determine whether interference exists. This paper introduces the classification of interference and the corresponding detection methods. The purpose of interference recognition is to recognize and classify interference. It is often combined with pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms. Interference source direction finding aims to estimate the direction of the interference signal. There are three kinds of methods: amplitude, phase, and spatial spectrum estimation. Interference source location aims to estimate the position of the interference signal. It is usually based on the received signal strength (RSS), time difference of arrival (TDOA), frequency difference of arrival (FDOA), angle of arrival (AOA) or direction of arrival (DOA). Interference source tracking aims to track moving interference sources, and it is generally based on Kalman filter theory. This paper summarizes the interference monitoring technologies and their latest progress. Finally, prospects for interference monitoring technologies are offered.

Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) array antenna receivers are effective for suppressing wideband jamming. However, its anti-jamming performance decreases sharply when the number of wideband interference surpasses the number of array elements. Since a large number of jammers are often used in navigation countermeasures, it is crucial to keep array antenna receivers available in such conditions. Aiming at this issue, two main tasks were performed in this research and are presented in this paper: Firstly, the direction sensitivity of the sup-freedom anti-jamming performance is revealed and an anti-jamming method for array antenna receivers based on antenna rotation is proposed. Secondly, in order to determine the optimal rotation angle rapidly, a variable-step iteration algorithm based on gradient descent is proposed. Theoretical analysis and simulation show the effectiveness of the proposed anti-jamming method and the efficiency of the implementation algorithm. In a typical airborne scenario with a maximum azimuth difference of 90°, the anti-jamming ability of the proposed method improved by 21~26 dB and 5~10 dB for arrays adopting the PI (power inversion) and MVDR (minimum variance distortionless response) algorithms, respectively. The iterative efficiency improved by 78.35–99.63% in comparison with a traversal of 0.1° search resolution. The proposed method and algorithm are not limited to airborne scenarios and they might be influential to anti-jamming algorithms in the data domain.
