Binary relations are most important in various fields of pure and applied sciences. The concept of linear Diophantine fuzzy sets (LDFSs) proposed by Riaz and Hashmi is a novel mathematical approach to model vagueness and uncertainty in decision-making problems. In LDFS theory, the use of reference or control parameters corresponding to membership and non-membership grades makes it most accommodating towards modeling uncertainties in real-life problems. The main purpose of this paper is to establish a robust fusion of binary relations and LDFSs, and to introduce the concept of linear Diophantine fuzzy relation (LDF-relation) by making the use of reference parameters corresponding to the membership and non-membership fuzzy relations. The novel concept of LDF-relation is more flexible to discuss the symmetry between two or more objects that is superior to the prevailing notion of intuitionistic fuzzy relation (IF-relation). Certain basic operations are defined to investigate some significant results which are very useful in solving real-life problems. Based on these operations and their related results, it is analyzed that the collection of all LDF-relations gives rise to some algebraic structures such as semi-group, semi-ring and hemi-ring. Furthermore, the notion of score function of LDF-relations is introduced to analyze the symmetry of the optimal decision and ranking of feasible alternatives. Additionally, a new algorithm for modeling uncertainty in decision-making problems is proposed based on LDFSs and LDF-relations. A practical application of proposed decision-making approach is illustrated by a numerical example. Proposed LDF-relations, their operations, and related results may serve as a foundation for computational intelligence and modeling uncertainties in decision-making problems.
In this article, a new hybrid model named linear Diophantine fuzzy rough set (LDFRS) is proposed to magnify the notion of rough set (RS) and linear Diophantine fuzzy set (LDFS). Concerning the proposed model of LDFRS, it is more efficient to discuss the fuzziness and roughness in terms of linear Diophantine fuzzy approximation spaces (LDFA spaces); it plays a vital role in information analysis, data analysis, and computational intelligence. The concept of -indiscernibility of a linear Diophantine fuzzy relation (LDF relation) is used for the construction of an LDFRS. Certain properties of LDFA spaces are explored and related results are developed. Moreover, a decision-making technique is developed for modeling uncertainties in decision-making (DM) problems and a practical application of fuzziness and roughness of the proposed model is established for medical diagnosis.
Qian presented multigranulation rough set (MGRS) models based on Pawlak’s rough set (RS) model. There are two types of MGRS models, named optimistic MGRS and pessimistic MGRS. Recently, Shabir et al. presented an optimistic multigranulation intuitionistic fuzzy rough set (OMGIFRS) based on soft binary relations. This paper explores the pessimistic multigranulation intuitionistic fuzzy rough set (PMGIFRS) based on soft relations combined with a soft set (SS) over two universes. The resulting two sets are lower approximations and upper approximations with respect to the aftersets and foresets. Some basic properties of this established model are studied. Similarly, the MGRS of an IFS based on multiple soft relations is presented and some algebraic properties are discussed. Finally, an example is presented that illustrates the importance of the proposed decision-making algorithm.
Yager recently introduced the q-rung orthopair fuzzy set to accommodate uncertainty in decision-making problems. A binary relation over dual universes has a vital role in mathematics and information sciences. During this work, we defined upper approximations and lower approximations of q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets using crisp binary relations with regard to the aftersets and foresets. We used an accuracy measure of a q-rung orthopair fuzzy set to search out the accuracy of a q-rung orthopair fuzzy set, and we defined two types of q-rung orthopair fuzzy topologies induced by reflexive relations. The novel concept of a rough q-rung orthopair fuzzy set over dual universes is more flexible when debating the symmetry between two or more objects that are better than the prevailing notion of a rough Pythagorean fuzzy set, as well as rough intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Furthermore, using the score function of q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets, a practical approach was introduced to research the symmetry of the optimal decision and, therefore, the ranking of feasible alternatives. Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methods for q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets cannot solve problems when an individual is faced with the symmetry of a two-sided matching MCDM problem. This new approach solves the matter more accurately. The devised approach is new within the literature. In this method, the main focus is on ranking and selecting the alternative from a collection of feasible alternatives, reckoning for the symmetry of the two-sided matching of alternatives, and providing a solution based on the ranking of alternatives for an issue containing conflicting criteria, to assist the decision-maker in a final decision.
Multigranulation rough set (MGRS) based on soft relations is a very useful technique to describe the objectives of problem solving. This MGRS over two universes provides the combination of multiple granulation knowledge in a multigranulation space. This paper extends the concept of fuzzy set Shabir and Jamal in terms of an intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) based on multi-soft binary relations. This paper presents the multigranulation roughness of an IFS based on two soft relations over two universes with respect to the aftersets and foresets. As a result, two sets of IF soft sets with respect to the aftersets and foresets are obtained. These resulting sets are called lower approximations and upper approximations with respect to the aftersets and with respect to the foresets. Some properties of this model are studied. In a similar way, we approximate an IFS based on multi-soft relations and discuss their some algebraic properties. Finally, a decision-making algorithm has been presented with a suitable example.
The bipolar fuzzy (BF) set is an extension of the fuzzy set used to solve the uncertainty of having two poles, positive and negative. The rough set is a useful mathematical technique to handle vagueness and impreciseness. The major objective of this paper is to analyze the notion of approximation of BF ideals of semirings by combining the theories of the rough and BF sets. Then, the idea of rough approximation of BF subsemirings (ideals, bi-ideals and interior ideals) of semirings is developed. In addition, semirings are characterized by upper and lower rough approximations using BF ideals. Further, it is seen that congruence relations (CRs) and complete congruence relations (CCRs) play fundamental roles for rough approximations of bipolar fuzzy ideals. Therefore, their associated properties are investigated by means of CRs and CCRs.
