Nassim Kamar, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Nephrology and is the Head of the Department of Nephrology and Organ Transplantation at Toulouse University Hospital, France. Dr. Kamar graduated in 2002. He completed a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship in basic research at the Department of Nephrology, La Charité Hospital, Berlin, Germany. Dr. Kamar was awarded his PhD degree in 2006. Dr. Kamar’s interests are viral infection, particularly hepatitis E virus, hepatitis C virus, and cytomegalovirus infections that develop after solid-organ transplantation, and more recently SARS-CoV-2. Moreover, he is also interested in immunosuppression after solid-organ transplantation. Dr. Kamar has published 650 papers in peer-review journals.
