Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Genoa in 1994; PhD in "Science and Development of the Cosmetic Product" in 1997 (Faculty of Pharmacy- University of Genoa). Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Genoa.
Professor of “Cosmetic Products” for the magistral degree course (second level degree) in Pharmacy and in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies.
Member of the executive board of the SICC (Italian Society of Cosmetic Chemists), AMPERE member (Association for Microwave Power in Europe for Research and Education), and GIMAMP (gruppo italiano microonde applicate ai materiali ed ai processi).
Editorial Board member of Cosmetics (ISSN 2079-9284), an international scientific open access journal on the science and technology of cosmetics, published by MDPI .
Chair of the Scientific Committee of the 25th IFSCC Congress; CEO of ACCADERMICA SRL, spin-off of the University of Genova.
She is focused on research in the field of green cosmetic chemistry, with particular attention to microwave technology, as an alternative energetic source, applied to eco-friendly extractive procedures.
The main targets regard the green extraction of bioactive compounds from botanical matrices, in particular from agro-food waste.
