Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a superior technology for the high-speed data rate of wire-line and wireless communication systems. The OFDM has many advantages over other techniques such as its high capacity and immunity against multipath fading channels. However, one of the main drawbacks of the OFDM system is the high-peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) that leads the system to produce in-band distortion and out-of-band radiation because of the non-linearity of the high-power amplifiers. Therefore, numerous techniques have been proposed to overcome the PAPR problem such as selective mapping, partial transmit sequence (PTS), clipping, and nonlinear companding. In this paper, the PTS technique was analytically reviewed as one of the important methods to reduce the high PAPR problem. The PAPR performance and the computational complexity level are discussed in terms of modifying the PTS technique in the frequency domain, time domain, and modulation stage (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform block). Moreover, the numerical statistic comparison of the current modified-PTS methods is introduced, and the criteria for selecting the suitable modified-PTS method in the OFDM system is also given. The simulation and the numerical calculations results show that the rows exchange-interleaving PTS (IL-Ex-PTS) scheme is the best method for reducing the PAPR value with low complexly in the frequency domain, and the cooperative PTS (CO-PTS) method is the best among the modulation stage methods, while the cyclic shift sequence PTS (CSS-PTS) method achieves the superior performance in PAPR reduction and computational complexity for the time domain methods.
The field of medical image processing plays a significant role in brain tumor classification. The survival rate of patients can be increased by diagnosing the tumor at an early stage. Several automatic systems have been developed to perform the tumor recognition process. However, the existing systems could be more efficient in identifying the exact tumor region and hidden edge details with minimum computation complexity. The Harris Hawks optimized convolution network (HHOCNN) is used in this work to resolve these issues. The brain magnetic resonance (MR) images are pre-processed, and the noisy pixels are eliminated to minimize the false tumor recognition rate. Then, the candidate region process is applied to identify the tumor region. The candidate region method investigates the boundary regions with the help of the line segments concept, which reduces the loss of hidden edge details. Various features are extracted from the segmented region, which is classified by applying a convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN computes the exact region of the tumor with fault tolerance. The proposed HHOCNN system was implemented using MATLAB, and performance was evaluated using pixel accuracy, error rate, accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity metrics. The nature-inspired Harris Hawks optimization algorithm minimizes the misclassification error rate and improves the overall tumor recognition accuracy to 98% achieved on the Kaggle dataset.
The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a crucial role in various sectors such as automobiles and the logistic tracking medical field because it consists of distributed nodes, servers, and software for effective communication. Although this IoT paradigm has suffered from intrusion threats and attacks that cause security and privacy issues, existing intrusion detection techniques fail to maintain reliability against the attacks. Therefore, the IoT intrusion threat has been analyzed using the sparse convolute network to contest the threats and attacks. The web is trained using sets of intrusion data, characteristics, and suspicious activities, which helps identify and track the attacks, mainly, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Along with this, the network is optimized using evolutionary techniques that identify and detect the regular, error, and intrusion attempts under different conditions. The sparse network forms the complex hypotheses evaluated using neurons, and the obtained event stream outputs are propagated to further hidden layer processes. This process minimizes the intrusion involvement in IoT data transmission. Effective utilization of training patterns in the network successfully classifies the standard and threat patterns. Then, the effectiveness of the system is evaluated using experimental results and discussion. Network intrusion detection systems are superior to other types of traditional network defense in providing network security. The research applied an IGA-BP network to combat the growing challenge of Internet security in the big data era, using an autoencoder network model and an improved genetic algorithm to detect intrusions. MATLAB built it, which ensures a 98.98% detection rate and 99.29% accuracy with minimal processing complexity, and the performance ratio is 90.26%. A meta-heuristic optimizer was used in the future to increase the system’s ability to forecast attacks.
