The article describes a developed technique of a numerical simulation of the stress-strain state of complex-reinforced elements, which allows you to create models of double-span continuous. The performed experimental and theoretical studies allowed us to carry out the testing of the developed design model and to justify the reliability of the proposed numerical simulation methodology. The results of the experimental studies were compared with those of the theoretical studies. The theoretical calculus algorithm was developed by using the finite element method. Theoretical calculations were performed by using the mathematical-graphical environment software system LIRA-SOFT and the mathematical and computer program MATLAB. On the basis of the experimental research, the iso-fields of displacements and stresses in the materials of an eccentrically compressed beam with a small bend of the slab were constructed, which collapse behind the inclined narrow strip of concrete and displacements and stresses in the materials of the eccentrically stretched beam, which is destroyed due to the yield of the upper mounting armature.

The influence of the components of plaster mortars on their properties is considered in a lot of studies at a qualitative level without searching for optimal compositions of these multicomponent composite materials. The purpose of this study was to obtain the experimental–statistical models based on the results of the designed experiment, allowing the influence of light fillers and polymer admixtures on the properties of the mortars to be evaluated and analysed; the compositions complying with specified requirements and compromised optimally by a number of properties should be found. The quantities of fine limestone and perlite as well as of the hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose and dispersible polymer were varied in the experiment. The effective viscosity and thixotropy of the mix, compression, tensile, adhesive strength, frost resistance, and density of hardened mortars were determined for 18 compositions according to the experiment design. The obtained models have allowed the individual and synergetic effects of mix components to be evaluated. The fine perlite has turned out to have the greatest positive effect on the properties. This porous filler increases the strength while decreasing the density of the mortars. It is shown how the composition complying with specified requirements—and the best based on several properties—has been found.

Dry mix mortars are becoming more and more popular in the world’s building materials market. Therefore, the issue of increasing the technological and mechanical properties of stucco mixes is relevant. The aim of the paper is modification of lightweight dry stucco mixes with fine limestone and perlite as well as with hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose and dispersible polymer. In order to investigate the different mixes, an 18-point experiment was designed. Density, compressive strengths and crack resistance of dry plaster mixes were studied using requirements of standard. Mathematical models were obtained for the compositions as a result of processing the experimental data. The regularities of the fillers’ and additives’ influence on the properties of the mixes were established, depending on their amount and combination. It was observed that methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose improves the crack resistance and compression strength, and contributes to a slight decrease in density. The crack resistance of plaster mortars changes more than 1.5 times, the most crack-resistant compositions have an average amount of porous fillers.

Hidden waterlogging of subsurface soils may develop without clear external signs, while still deteriorating the hydro-physical state of foundation soils. This proof-of-concept study demonstrates a compact monitoring and interpretation workflow for identifying such zones through moisture profiling and subsequent engineering interpretation using the liquidity index (IL) for cohesive soils and the saturation ratio (Sr) for non-cohesive soils. The developed prototype comprises a modular immersion probe, Arduino-based transmitter and receiver units, 433 MHz ASK wireless communication, and data logging. Using geotechnical survey data from a representative site in Astana, a baseline hydro-physical state and an intentionally constructed synthetic risk-waterlogging scenario were analyzed through vertical profiles and horizontal interpolation maps. Under the baseline state, moisture content varied mainly from about 6 to 23%, while most IL and Sr values remained within the normal zone. In the synthetic scenario, the response was much stronger in cohesive soils, where IL increased from about −0.55 to 1.8, whereas Sr in non-cohesive soils changed only slightly. The Welch’s t-test indicated significant scenario-related changes for IL (p-value of 1.095 × 10−19) but not for Sr (p-value of 0.147). The results show the methodological potential of the proposed workflow for engineeringly interpretable zoning of hidden waterlogging; however, site-specific calibration, metrological characterization, and field validation are still required before practical deployment.
