In this paper, an automatic design method based on a swarm intelligence approach for CMOS analog integrated circuit (IC) design is presented. The hybrid meta-heuristics optimization technique, namely, the salp swarm algorithm (SSA), is applied to the optimal sizing of a CMOS differential amplifier and the comparator circuit. SSA is a nature-inspired optimization algorithm which mimics the navigating and hunting behavior of salp. The hybrid SSA is applied to optimize the circuit design parameters and to minimize the MOS transistor sizes. The proposed swarm intelligence approach was successfully implemented for an automatic design and optimization of CMOS analog ICs using Generic Process Design Kit (GPDK) 180 nm technology. The circuit design parameters and design specifications are validated through a simulation program for integrated circuit emphasis simulator. To investigate the efficiency of the proposed approach, comparisons have been carried out with other simulation-based circuit design methods. The performances of hybrid SSA based CMOS analog IC designs are better than the previously reported studies.
The edge devices will produce enormous quantities of data daily as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) expands in scope. Still, most IIoT data is stored in data centers, making it challenging to transfer data between domains safely. Smart logistic products have dramatically changed due to the prevalence of decentralized edge computing and blockchain in the industry sector. To address the need to exchange data between logistics networks, we proposed a novel decentralized hierarchical attribute-based encryption (HABE) scheme combining edge computing and blockchain. To begin, we offer an IoT data encryption strategy in which edge devices can send data to a nearby cloud network for data processing while maintaining privacy. In addition, we developed a blockchain-integrated data-sharing scheme that makes it possible for users to share data via the use of edge and cloud storage. In particular, an IoT device incorporates an encryption-based authentication system to verify users’ access rights at the network’s periphery in a decentralized manner. Using HABE, we provide a blockchain-integrated architecture for the IoT that protects user privacy. The suggested design utilizes the edge and cloud network paradigms and HABE to maintain privacy and works well with smart logistics applications. The authentication time of the proposed model is reduced by 1.5 times compared with the centralized model. The analyses and experimental findings show that the proposed blockchain-integrated edge computing architecture is better than the existing schemes in terms of data sharing, data privacy, and security.

The number of unsecured and portable Internet of Things (IoT) devices in the smart industry is growing exponentially. A diversity of centralized and distributed platforms have been implemented to defend against security attacks; however, these platforms are insecure because of their low storage capacities, high power utilization, single node failure, underutilized resources, and high end-to-end delay. Blockchain and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) are growing technologies to create a secure system and to ensure safe network connectivity. Blockchain technology offers a strong and trustworthy foundation to deal with threats and problems, including safety, privacy, adaptability, scalability, and security. However, the integration of blockchain with SDN is still in the implementation phase, which provides an efficient resource allocation and reduced latency that can overcome the issues of industrial IoT networks. We propose an energy-efficient blockchain-integrated software-defined networking architecture for Industrial IoT (IIoT) to overcome these challenges. We present a framework for implementing decentralized blockchain integrated with SDN for IIoT applications to achieve efficient energy utilization and cluster-head selection. Additionally, the blockchain-enabled distributed ledger ensures data consistency throughout the SDN controller network and keeps a record of the nodes enforced in the controller. The simulation result shows that the proposed model provides the best energy consumption, end-to-end latency, and overall throughput compared to the existing works.
Data security and integrity are becoming increasingly important as the volume of data being created and stored grows. A controlled third party that provides most of the existing big data security systems makes them susceptible to several security risks. By resolving current technology challenges, including scalability, non-tampering, trustworthiness, data governance, and transparency, blockchain technology plays a vital role and has a significant potential to safeguard personal information. Therefore, this work focuses on addressing real-time big data storage issues based on a transdisciplinary research approach. This study introduces a brand-new approach to big data storage security that leverages blockchain technology and applies highway protocol to generate new blocks. The proposed highway protocol works based on the flexible finality condition to overcome issues of baseline models. The highway allows blocks to run the consensus mechanism to configure security thresholds more freely. The proposed protocol also allows blocks with lower thresholds to reach finality more quickly than blocks requiring greater degrees of confidence. Therefore, the proposed big data framework can dynamically control data manipulation and continuously support individuals to participate in the data-sharing process. A comparison was performed with the number of data requests in terms of hit ratio, and a highway protocol provides better results than baseline models. The proposed model provides a data processing period of 13 to 30 ms and an energy consumption of 32 to 41 mJ.
The expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and their integration into a variety of vital sectors has created serious concerns regarding data protection, privacy, and resource management. As a promising model, edge computing has the ability to overcome these difficulties by putting the computing power closer to IoT devices. This article presents a novel approach for decentralized resource allocation in edge computing settings, with the goal of improving the security and efficiency of IoT systems. Edge nodes are critical in our proposed framework for managing and assigning computing resources to IoT devices, minimizing latency, and optimizing network traffic. The decentralization of resource distribution promotes resilience in the event of network outages or cyberattacks and provides robustness against single points of failure. We created a proof-of-importance (PoI) consensus mechanism for creating new blocks in the blockchain integrated edge-computing IoT devices. Therefore, the consensus mechanism will ensure the trust and security of IoT devices by authentication of each user in the network. We performed a series of experiments in a simulated edge-computing setting to assess the feasibility of our proposed method. We analyze the proposed system model based on the operation of three different file delivery and transactions. The simulation outcomes show that the blockchain system efficiently delivers the files and increases the transmission rate. We also compared our file delivery and transmission rate with existing techniques, and our proposed model provides a better result. Finally, we compared the power consumption of creating IoT nodes based on proof-of-work (PoW), proof-of-stake (PoS), and PoI. The proposed PoI consensus mechanism consumes less power than the other two methods.
